Why no love for wall cavities?
Do you remember that scene from Gone with the Wind where the Scarlett O'Hara is talking about how she'll never go hungry/leave Tara again (I forget which, been a while since we've watched it)?
That's me when I talk about how I'll never live in a house *without* a cavity again. Sick of paying power companies for the sake of period charm :eek:0 -
Have a good day, smallholding. Wish I could say my son had a genuine want for school and friends, as the day is getting closer his attitude is getting worse.
Ed, I do your point re. paying more but some things are worth it. To live somewhere with character is worth it to me, so is paying more to run a nice old car. I can appreciate it's not for everybody, though.2018 totals:
Savings £11,200
Mortgage Overpayments £5,5000 -
I am not anti cavity walls (we have them here) but the Devon vernacular is cob and stone cottages which have no cavity. The stone is pretty thermally dense.
Thanks for all the good wishes. I didn't wish for a drink until at least 1.25!0
