They are now closer to 60 than 50, which leads me to think that they never will? I still have the old romantic notion that we will find ours, but seeing as we will likely be in whatever house we move to in the next few months until our mid 40s, I'm not entirely sure...
Thought your parents would be a lot older than pushing 60. I'd imagine that sort of age is good to be a new grandparent, though.
Regarding the 'dream house' I think it's all about priorities as I'd imagine they could sell the 4 houses and find their dream one. My parents found their dream house but it cost a lot of money, time and effort over many years. Father was almost 50 when they moved there, I don't remember their previous house but am told it wasn't anywhere particularly special, so you've plenty of time.smallholdingsister wrote: »Found the house. We just need a buyer.
It needs
10k site clearance & asbestos removal
new roof
roof insulation
rewiring
plasterboarding
a two storey extension
two new bathrooms
a new kitchen
cavity wall insulation (turns out there is a cavity)
An extra window added
the porch replaced
new fencing/gates/landscaping
new flooring and complete redecoration
new windows.smallholdingsister wrote: »The land! The views! The fireplaces!
