How much do you reckon...roof, wire, replaster, 2 storey extension...at the moment the kitchen is a belfast sink and a rayburn.
It might be cheaper to knock it down and rebuild, but what a WASTE!
I have been researching rebuild/renovation costs.and there's got to be a lot you can salvage in that house, even if you *did* knock it down. The rayburn and the sink for starters. What are the roof tiles made of? If they're slate, you could have a lot of fun creating slate chippings, with goggles for safety
hardcore for the paths etc. Wood for the stoves. The old bath to be sunk in the garden to grow watercress
there'll be loads.

Agree about Surveyors we paid a hideous amount for one as everyone said we should, old house and that, but it told us nothing the builder we took round hadn't already, also advised us to re-roof as it looked 80+ years old, vendors advised us it was turned and relined in 1999 but he said not.
When we pulled down the plasterboard in loft the roof lining is indeed modern and the same type and make as you buy today def not from the 1940's!0 -
