What a lovely thing to do when you helped the gentleman. Our elderly population are often vulnerable yet proud so I am glad he accepted your help.

I look at gardening stuff every year wondering if I will improve on the year before! We have just one raised bed but the one I gave to my mum remains unused so may retrieve it.

Thanks Cath, I think he was shaken up with some skin off his hands (possibly his knees too) and when he got up the first time, he promptly fell again :( He was grateful that I'd stopped to help and I'm glad he let me take him home.

:D The extra raised bed sounds good. What will you grow in it? I think I might try some strawberries in hanging bags this year. That'd be a 100% improvement for me!
    I am sooo glad I don't live near a @ldi then! My bank account wouldn't thank me1

:rotfl: Decided I've got enough 'stuff' without adding to it for now. Washed 8 pairs of gardening gloves as part of the sort out too...Mum always puts a cotton pair in my Christmas bag.

Theatre trip was really good and the boys enjoyed it - hope it helps them with their studies. Spends were £20 on lunch (friend got discount with her work card and we split the bill) and £4 on programme. No snacks/drinks as we stuffed ourselves at an International Buffet - eat all you can set price from about 8 countries!

I've decided on an £865 capital amount for the mortgage and that's set up to go Monday first thing.

Tomorrow the aim is to get housework done (at least a dust and hoover through) and then off to visit Mum for the afternoon.

What did you see at the theatre?

Glad to hear you helped out, I would've done the same but know plenty of people that wouldn't, unfortunately.

Saw "An Inspector Calls" years ago with DH. It was our first trip away from the 4 DS's and a very welcome break. Glad you enjoyed it. Here we go again for another MFW month - you sound super organised already :)

Thanks Chumpy and bet that was a good break indeed!

Think I'm organised until something jumps out at me from the To Do list or a casual 'By the way...' from DS as he heads towards the door needing something signed or money there and then!

Have just ordered an Am@zon gift card for the last of the March birthdays and 2 for £14 tickets with magazine for the Ideal Home Show :j Missed the freebie ones unfortunately, but looking forward to a day out.

  • Love the ideal home but it's such a big outlay with flights etc that if I make it once every ten years, I'm doing well.

Once every 17 years here based on last visit in 1999! Can get away with off peak rail tickets by having a leisurely start to the day ;) and coming back after rush hour. Halves the cost. Packed lunches and bottles of water in the hardy rucksack and sorted :)

Time for MOP figures before I run out of time (want to look at some work stuff before bed).

March 2016 - £865 wholly capital payment going in the morning, works out an OP of £177.63

    Dec 13 - £133,444
    Last month - £110,825
    Now - £109,960

    £23,484 paid off and it's Bye-Bye £110s and hello £100s :D

    Part 1
    Dec 13 - £27,345
    Last month - £18,600
    Now - £17,735

    Part 2
    Dec 13 - £106,099
    Last month - £92,225
    This month - £92,225

Interest figure will be known later in week, expecting it to be @ £237.39. It may be out by pennies!! :rotfl: New daily should be down by 6p at £7.81.

Happy with progress and a similar amount has gone into savings :)

Edit: Because I owe £5 less than I put!
