I like it DFOD, but don't use much so have to watch use by date, fortunately not much waste.

NSD today and another £3 earnt from a fourth P!cone survey.

Managed to drive to next point of 8 miles without panic symptoms. Very happy aside all this extra fuel though I did ignore the suggestion of looking around the expensive garden centre to make it a purposeful run as didn't want to be tempted to spend, so drove into the car park but straight out again :D

Nothing else to report today :)

I budget £100 per month for food shop but need to re-visit and probably increase a bit as seem to be over most weeks or leave DS at home when I go ;)

With the mortgage being Interest Only it might be working a bit different (but not sure) to normal repayment. Int payment goes 28th of the month, so I send a capital payment on that day too.. They apply capital same day now (didn't used to) and that immediately re-calculates the interest due for the next one, so I'm maximising the saving by not leaving it until 1st of the month.

Worthwhile getting more accounts for interest for sure. Free money for a few clicks setting up, rest done by S/O :)

DH was pretty resistant to the idea of getting extra accounts, but he's happy enough with the interest money coming in. ;) I had to set up all the S/Os of course, but now everything runs on autopilot.

Funny that! I was a little concerned about having more current accounts from a credit report perspective/lender scoring, but it's just another step in doing the best for ourselves :)

Thanks DFOD - you too (and hope DS is getting better) and all forumites :)

Be easier once you're settled into your house, you've done extremely well on kitting it out though with all the bargains. Try some meal planning too - makes quite a difference to the food bill I've found :)

He did actually get refused for a H@lifax credit card a couple of weeks ago (we were going to stooze it to the mortgage) - we'd opened 3 new bank accounts in the span of a month, though, so I imagine that's why. I think they only care about 3 months of history as far as credit searches go, so not long to wait until everything resets again.

Weekend was productive, lots done in prep for big family do on Sunday coming. NSDs both days, DS had a friend over so extra for lunch and dinner.

Popped to Sbugs tonight for a few bits - spend of £2.50, in return got a till spit saying 2000 points credited to card = £10 :j and sure enough, receipt shows £36.85 in Nectar value. Happy with that :D

    Financials:
    - bank accounts checked
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Inbox £s up at £13.80
    - Qmee - 48p in current pot
    - £co paid £4.13 to current account

Out a couple of evenings at friends this week with present deliveries and catching up. C0stco trip too - have to watch myself in there!

Hope everyone's had a good start to the week :)

It's a good news and bad news day.

In good news - Planning permission was granted today for the extension - has sailed through with no consultee comments or neighbour objections. I'll get some builders quotes next to see if it's financially viable to build it before paying out for detailed drawings and structural calcs for building regs application.

In bad news - Mum was taken ill in the early hours of this morning, it's another flare up in the last stage of her terminal illness :( Off to visit shortly.

    That's all for today :)
