Lunch was good, day overshadowed as sadly Mum was too unwell to make it and is an inpatient now. Aim is to get her home again, but also under no illusions.
Money saving goes out the window with car parking at £6.50 for 5 hrs (but took a sandwich, flask of tea and fruit).
Aiming to still fulfil work commitments as last week before 2 weeks off and visit Mum every eve. Thank goodness for free 24/7 calls on the landline as it's being used rather alot keeping wider family updated
A few more visual migraines too - expect they're a result of me not sleeping well and being a bit tense/stressed.
Financials bobbing along, can't really make any plans at the moment.Back on the DFW Wagon:

So sorry about your mum. Sending love xxMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Hope the migraines improve! Keeping you and your mum in my thoughts.0

Sorry to hear about your mother. Charging for car parking at hospitals is something I think is quite awful.

Thanks everyone, really appreciate your supportive words.
Been to the hospital twice today - walked the first time (30 mins each way), car second time and found a short stay bit, so £3.70 for 2 hrs  Slight improvement but still extortion!
Kind of good and bad news - CT scan shows condition is worse than thought on admission, but she is breathing easier some of the time with assistance and today ate some soft food for the first time since the weekend.
Coming home is going to be dependent on some medical equipment being there and ready - so currently sorting that, but optimistic view is possible discharge at the weekend.
Feels like very long days at the moment - still delivering work and only 1.5 days to go on that. Phew.
Other spends - Mum insistent on chocs and thank you cards for the A&E and wards she's been in....almost £20 spent. Took 2 lots in today and the staff appreciated those as much as we appreciated their care and kindness. Third is at the ready.
Spent nothing else - no time and personal budget blown on above!
Missed a parcel delivery though, so an awful trip across town to the 2 parking space sorting office tomorrow to come
Other than that, plodding along ok, but need to sort out Sunday with ex's family due up here for the day, as bro is working and I may well need to be around for Mum. Putting them off until post Christmas maybe the answer if necessary.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Mostly finished work for Christmas, just the admin side to wrap up early next week that's easier to fit in around life :j
Was at the sorting office at 6.30am yesterday - only way to avoid the traffic jams and get parked for free. Bit extreme but worked
Spends - hospital parking £4.30. Bro paid out double that as a 6 hr wait for paperwork and medicines as Mum has been allowed home :j:j Is pretty poorly, but this is the new normal
Just about keeping up with financials with 4 P!necone surveys in and done over last 3 days, missed a bit on Inbox £s and only up at £14.45.
Tax bill arrived this week  Least been able to earn interest on it, unlike PAYE and that's all set aside ready to pay in January.
CBT session today, last in this course, with the option to have another if I need/want it without GP referral. Reflecting, it's been very useful not just for the driving, but worrying in general and particularly this past week or so, I've been able to function better than I expected by using the techniques I've learnt.
Food shop done tonight at Ald! - a combination of everything needed for guests on Sunday, bits for over Christmas, nibbles to take to parties tomorrow night and Christmas Eve, bits for Mum, school holiday extras and normal food shop - bill was £43.87. Not too shabby
Busy time ahead - want to finish routine housey jobs tonight and tomorrow morning, cook some soft food stuffs for Mum and shall be over there tomorrow afternoon/early evening, getting back for neighbours get together. Get house straight for Sunday and host guests/cook roast lunch. Make a few meals for Mum from the soft veg too and take over Sunday evening.
Monday DS is going to see Star Wars with school friends, Tuesday we have his Halif@x appointment in town and Wednesday wider family are coming up to see Mum - similar day to last Sunday but without the cooking. I'll bake a couple of cakes for that.
Thursday is DS and I's hot choc in town treat and Friday, subject to portability of kit, Mum still wants to come here for Christmas lunch (as she always has done). I've found my old mini blender I used when DS was a baby (veg in ice cube trays anyone) so that's going to be back in use.
Hope fuel stays below £1 a litre - I'm going to be needing alot of it to spend as much time with Mum as possible around the appointments and events
Have a great weekend everyoneBack on the DFW Wagon:
