Had a mortgage too long - it's going, going, gone!

So nice you had mum with you for a few hours, Christmas is about family after all. Sending love xMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Very true Watty, for years Christmas seemed to revolve around the fun and excitement for DS (and niece and nephew) but they're all pretty much grown up now, before that probably partying - family always together for the day, but definitely more pertinent this year
Glad to hear no waste in your house either Broggers. Reminds me I need to batch make turkey curry and we'll have a casserole with some today. Finally some room in the freezers.
I was diary reading and spreadsheet fiddling late last night as it's only 3 days until OP day

You're still motoring on as usual despite the extra bits to juggle. Well done you. Thanks INOD and I hope you had a good one too - I keep checking your diary to see how life is treating you...shall PM you instead if I may
Balance is my goal for 2016:
- time with family...money can't buy it but more memories can be made
- life won't be as frugal with higher fuel spends to see Mum more and higher food spends to make sure she has nutritious fresh and palatable food
- mortgage I am aiming for £10k off or £2,300 in OPs - under £100k is unlikely, but every penny extra towards it will help
- building pots of savings
- working to live, not living to work
I'm in a way better position than 2 years ago and if this year was just to be paying the mortgage minimum repayment amount, then I'll still be happy.
Having said that, I've just upped the capital payment to £840 :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:

And to your Skinny :xmassign:
Been at Mum's for the afternoon and have used as much fuel in the last week as I have in the last month .
Free day tomorrow :j but need to get a few bits to take over Monday morning, so no PJ day then! Plan is that and batch cooking.
Finally put my lovely Christmas gifts away tonight and hidden my chocolate stash from DS..his is disappearing at a rate of knots and mine *should* last until Easter if he doesn't raid it :rotfl:
Got some washing on and the dishwasher, bins emptied and a general tidy up done. Feeling on top of the house stuff at leastBack on the DFW Wagon:

I last filled my car up at the beginning of October! DH keeps muttering that I clearly don't need it but is missing the point.....I take his whenever I can, because his lives on the drive meaning I don't lose my parking space out the front of the house!!! :rotfl::rotfl:
You're right about making memories Ali. Family is more important than anything else, but you're so determined I bet you still achieve your goals! :money:0
