We had a wonderful Christmas, Ali.
Regarding the tree, that's meant to stay up until the Twelfth Night; giving an extra five days of Christmas by your logic.2018 totals:

You're right about making memories Ali. Family is more important than anything else, but you're so determined I bet you still achieve your goals! :money:
:rotfl: I like your thinking! Was using very little fuel due to the vision and panic issues, but a combo of the CBT and having to drive to Mum's (public transport is 3 buses and 1.5 hrs vs 30 mins by car) has changed it drastically. Thank goodness for 50mpg.Thanks for the vote of confidence - I shall try my best! I am leaking money at the moment getting items for Mum, but squirrelled another £20 to the mortgage payment, taking it to £860
I've quite a bit of Xmas money/cheques to bank too, but that's going across to savings mostly...I think

So pleased to hear that Alex :T
:rotfl: What date is Twelfth Night? Might go with that! I've just de-Christmassed the kitchen, everything has been used up from the fridge, though still a few mince pies to go. Feels back to normal in there!
Been nice to have a day at home with a trip into town - it was very quiet. Picked up some more half price gifts for the stash, really pleased with those and spent £16 of Christmas money on 2 tops in the M&S sale instore.
Wanted DS to write some Thank you letters in time to give to wider family tomorrow, but that's not happened. Also enjoyed an afternoon snooze - least that is free! Another load of washing done and drying on airer. Reminder email for end of month electricity reading is in too - least the gas bills should be lower with such warm weather, but thoughts with all those suffering with the floods, what dreadful scenes and especially at this time of year
Off to Mum's early tomorrow morning to see wider family...rest of day probably spreadsheet fiddling as last chance to change mortgage payment for Tuesday :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:

When you get down to say 20-30-40k area do you think you would use most and or some of the EF as
over time the savings will increase and i myself enjoy adding to the EF knowing i can use it for anything that pops upMortgage--- [STRIKE]£67700 March 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65221 April 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64983 July 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64780 sept 15[/STRIKE] Remortgage [STRIKE]£67295 oct 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£66599 Nov 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65878.73 Dec 15[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £64834 1st Jan 16[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Feb 16 £64,511.89[/STRIKE][STRIKE] March 16 £64,056.40[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]April 16 £62550[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]May 16 £62,396.20[/STRIKE] Feb 17 £60.800

Reasonably happy with £860...it's a £172 OP or £217 against the lower required payment due to OPing. I'd love to get to paying £1k a month every month though
Most likely will use savings if and when I get to a neutral point. That's the plan at the momentBack on the DFW Wagon:

Thanks Alex
Looks like tree will come down when I've got some free time judging by how busy this week is now turning out to be!
Lovely time with the family this morning, though Mum is exhausted and using her machine to the max pretty much everyday now. Blood tests and GP tomorrow though.
Now organising to take her to a garden centre for a cup of tea - something she'd like to do, gets her out to an environment she'd enjoy and little walking involved.
Back home, more housey things and weekly food shop done @ £18 which was mainly fresh stuff like milk, bread, fruit and veg.
Mortgage capital payment is staying set at £860 for the morning, must remember to phone them at 9am. Will update on the stats once done
Tomorrow is a home day :j Plenty to be done including work, more batch cooking, 3 films to watch and a small pile of ironing from the last couple of weeks. Amazingly remembered to put rubbish out for collection too, usually terrible for that with the changed day over the holidayBack on the DFW Wagon:

Thanks Lucky, fingers crossed.
Need to do my annual review too, so here goes:
- I paid £10,710 off the mortgage, shaving 4 more months off the end date.
- I became debt free in March and saved £1,200 for DS and continued to grow my savings too
- I finally sorted out moving forward with pension contributions (that took from Feb and isn't quite complete, but near enough).
- The garden renovations were finished and still looks amazing on the dullest and drizzliest of days. Worth the expense but all paid for, with huge thanks to my DIY friends for their labour and talent in return for copious home-made cakes and roast dinners. Oh and a zillion mugs of tea :rotfl:
- We holidayed in the Canaries at Easter for a much needed 10 day break. But cancelled the summer one.
- My health issue was solved as being yet another dodgy disk - this time in the neck, some 15 months after it started. Just sneaking into 2015 was the CBT and driving a bit further. Vision not right still, but improving enough to get by on.
- I succumbed to delusions of grandeur :rotfl: with an architect designing and drawing a first floor side and rear extension, then got planning permission for it
- I gave the office up at it's 1 year anniversary, bringing it back to working from home. It helped in growing the business.
- We sadly lost my Great Aunt at age 95, but she'd partied to the end and had enjoyed her life to the full.
- Mum's condition took a turn for the worse in the Spring and again earlier this month. The upside, we've spent so much more time together as a family
