  • I always buy my crackers in the sale after Christmas and put them with the decorations so I remember them the next year

I'm usually too late for the after Christmas sales crackers :(

Ended up a busy work day today which is good, no time to ponder over paint trim colours..that's my next job!

Another P!necone survey in and done for £3 :j as well as a Prelim.

Lots I want to get done this evening, but tv is pretty good tonight - GBBO final and Dr Foster final part. Think plan of action is early dinner tonight, make phone calls to family and a friend I need to do and hope I'm done by 8pm :)

Better get a move on...DS should be home in 15 mins :)

Life is not being straight forward at the moment....

    - Office fell through at the last minute. Annoying, but has probably saved some hassle in the long run with the contractual stuff and saved me shelling out a large amount of money today, so the bank account is looking healthier than I expected. For now, I'll continue to work from home and keep an eye out.

    - The planning chap changed his advice and it's been back to the drawing board for layout, window placement/type and roof design. The extension size was the only thing to stay the same. Fingers crossed for a green light to go to FPP with this one.

    Financials:
    - bank account checked
    - freepostcodelottery checked
    - Inbox Pounds - up at £8.48
    - 3 P!necone surveys done in 3 days - £9 on its way
    - £5 in 5p's from the change bucket banked
    - Qmee - 18p added, pot at 39p

DS wants to go to the cinema and take a friend tomorrow, so a spend there coming up. It's too long a film and late finish to go on a Meerk@t movie night.

Just going to keep on being careful with the pennies and saving as much as possible. I've budgeted £810 for the mortgage for November - an OP of £130.

Thanks EE for highlighting that, well looks like the final nail in the TT coffin then  Time to shop around and pick up a deal, though I'm going through being very indecisive at the moment - likely because there's alot going on that's uncertain, that added up, is making me more anxious than normal.

A simple life suits me so much better :)

I hope you find another office soon and get the extension sorted, Ali. :)

Something to perhaps think about, are you sure you want to keep your current house and extend rather than moving somewhere bigger?

    Thanks Alex.

Pretty sure about staying put...I can't really see any pro's to moving. Plenty of downsides though:

The impact on DS with being in GCSE years, he'd lose the school minibus unless we were on the same route it runs still and change is hard for him being an Aspie.

Furniture never works right in a new house and everything here is done as I want now - including the new garden!

Swapping mostly lovely neighbours for the unknown puts me off too.

All told, the extension is a nice to have and not a need so if it doesn't happen it's not going to cause issues. The changes made in the latest plans are looking good - it'll be quite a statement bedroom with vaulted ceiling :)

Ali, I presumed you'd perhaps move when your son went to university. Anyhow, it sounds like you're happy in your current house. If you're staying there forever, extending sounds like the right plan for you. :)
