:rotfl: Are you Mrs K's older, more sensible sister? Hope the coffee table is a V8 or V12 though.
As for just mown grass scent, I've got a cheaper solution for that...
Re. house renovations, it does get expensive and the plans do become far too grand. We were not long ago looking into sorting out our bathroom. Mrs K wants a separate shower unit but we were both surprised at the cost of nice fixtures and fittings for such an item. Not to mention it's going to be a lot of work to do. If she gets that we're having a period bath, though.
:rotfl:
Sit outside and sniff the air when neighbours cut their grass is the current free scent option
I agree on the costs  thankfully at this stage it's about external stuff and structure, so there's still time to change internal stud walls (I think/hope)... so the bath may get ditched. Enough work cleaning one :rotfl:. Am with Mrs K on a separate shower - love the walk in ones - 4ft x 5ft is in the plan

Space and room to not bang elbows, plus a bench to put feet on and shave legs
Waited 13 years for a separate shower (old house had a smaller one)...was a compromise with this place, going to make up for itBack on the DFW Wagon:

I love the cumulative OP figure as it's purely off the balance, no interest involved!

:rotfl: Re. the grass.
I'd imagine you'd still have time to change the internals, unless there are any really complex requirements ... to be honest, I haven't any more of a clue than you!
Mrs K and I completely disagree on the bathroom, she wants it to be contemporary, up to date and modern. I want to get rid of the 50's / early 60's suite (it's green and vile) and where possible make the room a period feature of the house. She'd like the idea of a walk in shower but Victorian houses most certainly did not have walk in showers.2018 totals:

Thanks SJ and Lil too - the other stat I love is the cumulative interest reduction which I missed off my post! Down by £56.86 per month - incredible how £2 or £3 a month has added up to a sizeable amount. More motivation
Today was neuro appointment in London - it seems I have a herniated/slipped disc in my neck which worsens with tension/stress and causes all the symptoms I've had. Just to add to the 2 in my lower back that had surgery 12 years ago and still get some problems withGood news it's nothing worse like MS, as GP initially suspected. All bloods and the muscle/nerve testing came back fine.
Recommended I start Pilates/Yoga again and mattress/pillows and aids be looked into so I can manage it, as well as get some anti-inflamatory meds from the GP.
Spends today - £50 return train fare at peak time, £5 parking for the day, £2.80 sandwich for lunch and 95p for a cuppa at the hospital.
Car is running on fumes still, but will make it through to the new month, shall fill up Thursday for sure!
As I get closer to the new office move, plus another big 'use and pay off' CC bill next month and now architects/planning fees to pay out, savings are going to get touched. So I'm looking forward to getting back to saving - feels like it's been a long time coming with the months of garden work and time off work. Just a little spanner in the works called Christmas to get throughBack on the DFW Wagon:

Extension seems straight forward on paper by keeping the build to the existing outline, only knocking through 2 walls for doorways (rather than a whole corner of the house coming out) and plumbing on one wall close to existing pipes/soil stack, just leaves a stud wall to move and 2 to be built.
I see your bathroom dilemma - you could hide a walk in shower behind a wall and use appropriate fittings as a compromise perhaps? Green suite  you're doing well to tolerate it for so longBack on the DFW Wagon:

Really good news from the hospital. At least knowing what it is, you can now work with it. Hopefully the recurrences will lessen now you're no longer worried about worse case scenarios.
