    I have DOGS!!!!:T

Bailey & Cassie arrived a little while ago, and have already decluttered a lovely game in the garden and their dinner.:D

Flying-wise I've given the wire shelf from the micro/combi a good scrub with @stonish paste as it was looking a tad grotty. Lovely and sparkly now.;) Also given the washing up bowl a good scrub, as cleaning the shelf left that looking less than clean.:D

Ooh, must go and get the dogs' teacloth out of the cupboard. I have a particular teacloth I keep for drying dog-bowls.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    But has it been ironed?:rotfl::rotfl:

Ironing is one of those marmite things you love it or hate it and do whatever amount is needed to keep you in the correct place on your happiness scale.
I knew someone who couldn't wear folded underwear her Knicks were ironed and laid flat in a drawer. Not sure how she would cope with the kondo way of sorting them rolled up.

Whispers I love ironing. Nowadays I settle for doing tea towels and pillowcases but not the rest of bedding or pantaloons. I do even let Mr DM do it, not up to scratch but I don't let on ;)

Ds2 has had a day of major meltdowns. I had a gp appointment and a toddler was crying loudly so ds decided to laugh louder to drown the noise out. Result much tutting and funny looks. I have a rotor cuff strain of my shoulder so have been given some pk.
We popped into my parents home and found my mum not feeling well. We sorted her out then my sister arrived so I left them to it.

3 x wm dried outside. Ground floor henried. Shoulder now killing. Dusting delegated to ds1 and then explained how he should do it properly. Airing cupboard sorted to find swimming trunks that teen couldn't find.

gammon roast dinner is in the oven.
DH has put ds2 in the bath and he is screaming.

    Back later x

I'm here, dancemum. Hope your DS1 has calmed down now and you have a more peaceful day tomorrow.

    My list for tomorrow:
    - edit and email a couple of files
    - meet friends with Chernobyl children at steam railway station and spend most of the day on the trains; remember packed lunches ;)
    - buy material for DGD2's skirt
    - bring in washing (It's still out on the line now and too dark to get it in this evening)
    - phone a friend.

Not much, but no time for anything else!

Well I've had a grotty day.

First day off work for hubby and we have had a blazing row this afternoon. lots of unkind things said. We have had a big talk (and a cry on my part) tonight so hopefully things can get back to normal. Even though I'm still not feeling great, I need to make more of an effort to give hugs and kisses as he is feeling neglected! He s going to try and appreciate me more! Let's see how that works out!

Anyway list completed. Didn't wash up after dinner as couldn't be a**ed! Fresh start tomorrow. We are planning to decorate ds2s room. I have filled all the cracks today and made good so we can start straight away after swimming and OHs job interview.

  • Hi all,

Back from my mums, no flying today as been out all day. So my record breaking ironing pile is as big as ever! I don't iron tea towels, underwear, bath towels, dusters, bed sheets, nightwear or anything at all that looks fairly un-creased! Goodness, if I did the pile would up to the ceiling! It is my nemesis. I have the ironing board set up permanently in the hope it encourages me, but what has happened is the pile has grown over ironing board height, and so the board is sort of a structural bit of the pile. :embarasse
I don't actually mind ironing, it's just other things always seem more 'pressing' :rotfl:

Anyway, maybe I should add it to my summer challenge. Finish decorating hall and finish ironing.
Hope everyone is well, catch you all tomorrow x
Ps Frizzle hope everything has calmed down and you are ok x

    Hi all
I'm here too. Been out most of day so not much done but also not much mess.

Off to check weather and decide what to do tomorrow. Washing and a nice park, hopefully...

Hope things have calmed down for dancemum and frizzle

Ooh, dancemum! Advice please! Suggested to my mum that she get DD some tap shoes for her birthday. Any idea where best to look please? Don't wish to spend lots as it's mainly ballet at the mo but they do spend a bit of time tapping. She'll probably grow out of them soon enough, so any tips on what I should look out for? Imagine she'd love a glittery pair... <rollseyes>
    TA for any advice! Xx

I am definitely in the Slattern Club for the ironing. I only iron what is really necessary. I don't even iron jeans and definitely not undies or such as tea-cloths, towels or bedding :rotfl:

If it's gone I've done it or don't have one

Do half hour clearing of the place you hate doing the most..

Just for my own satisfaction I'll post what I've achieved today although I'm sure everyone else is either a) in bed and b) not bothered.
    - 1 load through DW and put away.
    - 2 baskets of washing kondoed - I don't iron gym clothes or jeans either, just to add to my list of "why would you?" As someone else said, I don't actually dislike ironing; it just has low priority and I don't tend to often wear the sort of clothes that need it.
    - report finished and emailed
    - another colander full of whitecurrants picked
    - whitecurrant and gooseberry pudding made (and partly eaten now)
    - en suite cleaned mostly; still need to do the floor, but did give the poor spider plant that lives in there a shower and put in sun for a while!
    - remembered to post 2 letters
    - watered greenhouse, patio and hanging baskets
    - did lots of dead heading
    - various bits around the house put back where they should be

    Tomorrow:
    body attack at gym
    sale at Mata1ans
    another report
    house to hoover
    a membership to renew
    who knows what else?
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
