Is it selfish to not share comps?

Just read 'that' email and personally was surprised at the tactic of not sharing comps. I just wondered what everyone else thought? Personally I see sharing as good karma and would feel bad being so selfish.

I completely agree with you, Hannonle
I receive and read that email too and I was a little surprised considering what the sender does! I think sharing is good and brings you luck:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
Never.
There's no point to keeping them secret, as invariably someone who isn't such a sad selfish git will find it and post it anyway.
I look forward to receiving a PM from someone who has won a comp I have posted - they are often followed by a WEM.

Sites who do it for money obviously prefer "amateurs" not to share so traffic (=revenue) is driven to their own sites.0

Nope! Even if it's something that I really want it never crosses my mind to not post it. Like folk have mentioned above, it's fantastic when you find out you've helped someone win with a post you've made! Some folk on here put so much effort into posting competitions for us all when they really have no obligation to do so, so if you happen to find a competition that isn't listed why not post it and give back to the forum? I think if you can find a way to do your bit, you should. But you know, just my opinion

I shared a Florida comp over on a Florida forum a few years back - someone from that forum one. It was great feeling knowing that sharing the comp had helped them win. Most comps are already listed here but I would always shareWon a holiday every year since 2014......come on 2021!!

I don't know what this email is either ...
But sometimes it's not about keeping them 'secret' but about lack of time or entering on a phone or something that makes people unable to post.
I sometimes enter FB comps on my phone and can't post on here from it - well ... I can but it takes an age and often goes wrong.0 -
Could someone please post this email; don't keep it to yourself...0

No, I never got the 'email' either.
The majority I come across are usually already posted by the time I see them, but if there's a random one that isn't, then I'll post it.0
