    challengers updated.

I have been entering competitions and winning bits here and there. still have my wishlist of a new car, holiday, £1000+ cash and a house, lol.

But nice to receive winning stuff in the post rather than just bills.

We went to HMS Belfast yesterday and the MSER in me did the 2 for 1 offer, so for £8 each, we spent 4 hours there and they were the best action packed 4 hours, so well worth the £2 per hour entrance fee, better than softplay!

I was shattered at the end of it, wearing new flip flops which hurt my feet by the end of the day because the plastic is at the top rather under the material, so hard on my soles.

DS and I had a totally awesome day, his words. Cannot recommend it highly enough to people.

Was going to take DS to cinema today with our vue tickets from nectar points, but the film he wants to see isn't showing until Wednesday.

DH told me it is going to rain all week, as we were hoping to do Lido again this week. DS had so much fun there last week. We remembered to take his swimming trunks and he spent a good 20 mins running in and out of the water sprinkles.

carbootcrazy and lynnejk, DS has all the tech, wiiu, tablet, computer, etc. but he would much prefer to be out and about, whether it is with friends, (well he much prefers being with friends), park, lido, cinema, library, etc. He would rather be out all day even if park and picnic, than stay at home watching tv and playing computer games, which I am pleased about.

It is a shame we can't trust others to behave around children, that we can't trust them to go off and play by themselves. He always makes friends when we go out, even at parks we have never been too.

But yes hubby talks about in his childhood they would go out 7am and come back at 5pm for tea. They would play in the woods, parks, etc.

yay just got a text, another win :D

oh and I have been making money too! prolific academic, love that site, ebay, apptrailers, although I have now removed this app. Too often it goes to watch and stops you earning.

Not really making much on swags since all the changes.

Great to hear you sounding so upbeat, Aesop, after the problems you had recently:j. HMS Belfast sounds like a great venue, your son is a very lucky little boy and it already sounds as if this school holiday will be chock full of happy memories for both of you:T. Sorry to hear of your sore feet though. Blisters are the bane of my life I'm sorry to say. Love walking but my footwear has to be so well broken-in that it's practically worn out before it's really problem-free for me:o.

This thread has been really lucky for LuckyPhone winners hasn't it? I've registered all my 3 phones now and am still only up to 55 points though:o

Good Luck with the comping:beer:. I've been a comper all my life and have won all sorts over the years including holidays, dishwasher, fitted bathroom, trolley-dash but no real biggies for ages. Used to like it better when comps were harder to enter (needing entry forms to track down and fill in, qualifying products to buy and slogans to write etc.) as with modern technology all that's often necessary is to 'like' something on FB or do a simple click on various sites. Or text something. I don't enter many at all these days as I'm ashamed to say I'm not much into technology:o so maybe I should put that right. There's nothing like a prize parcel arriving to lift the spirits:j. I knew someone from a comping group I used to go to (now sadly defunct:() who won 2 cars in a year:eek:. One car would have made me delirious:rotfl:

Good read Aesop - I remember hms Belfast being good. I'm guessing you're in London... Me and DH recently moved to a rural village from a bug city and it's been lovely watching the kids play in the street; it's such a shame most places aren't safe enough.

Was going to go for a walk with the bubba with a £3 eBay sale parcel, but not sure if I fancy it in the rain!

Interesting about comps- I've gone through phases entering them, but never won a thing so given up recently- how many do you reckon you enter on average?

you reminded me I have to post 2 ebay sales. am working on DS' laptop at the moment, cleaning it up and want to install windows 10 on it, but taking ages as everything out of date, ie antivirus etc

We are outside London, in the sense we don't live in Central London, but are classed as greater london. takes us an hour to get into the city.

put it this way I took 200+ photos lol. uploaded them to facebook for my friends yesterday lol. keep them occupied for a bit.

it was fascinating and I was teaching DS stuff as we were going around, always good. and he was asking about the wars, and living on a ship, etc. so good bit of history and learning for him.

with comps, i enter when I can, so I don't do a set number everyday. I know someone who claims to enter at least a hundred a day and has won loads. Probably has but then it depends what comps you are entering.

I find if you enter facebook comps with thousands of other entries, not much chance of winning, so I look for local comps, ie my local shopping centres, I do more on twitter now, did an effort comp recently which I won with. I have started using instagram more, I won with that last year.

I am in comping groups so find out about some comps from there. I don't use mse at all.

One week I might only enter 2-3 comps, another hundred. Depends on time and what I am doing and where. :D

Money-making slowed to a trickle, I just know I'll be nowhere near reaching my target this month:(. I expect with school holidays and things a lot of others will be in the same boat.

Great info about where you find your comps, Aesop. I know a couple of people who say they enter about 100 a day:eek:. I sometimes go a whole week and only enter about 3, even when I was mad keen in the good old days I never managed more than about 20 a week. My local newspaper which we get every day has been really lucky for me. Nothing very big or expensive won but a few nice prizes over the years. I suspect it's pretty low entry numbers so I always have a go. My last win was a lovely set of cut-glass whisky glasses which I gave to relatives for a big anniversary and they were dead chuffed:j. I was wondering what I could afford to get them that didn't look cheap and nasty:o and then I was lucky enough to win the glasses just in the nick of time.

Did a survey on OpinionBar yesterday and was pleased to see I'd passed the £10 redemption threshold so I've claimed it but am not holding my breath for receiving it before October. They say they only process redemptions in the first week of the month and I just missed that:(. Then they say the money can take up to 6 weeks to arrive by BACS.

yes I am closing my opinion Bar account once I have received my money. it takes too long for redemption which I don't agree with.

am doing much better with prolific academic and panelbase.net
  • Can I join please, I have been following you guys for a week or so and I am very late to the table but....

Anyway I am down for £5 a day. I have been doing surveys and coupons etc but I am only going to count things that have been paid into my account.

Sadly so far that only means I have £5.29 which is the profit on a recent ebay sale after fees etc but its a start:j
