Motorguy - why don't you just get Sky's Now Tv - full price for movies and entertainment package is only about £15 per month, and it works pretty much same as Netflix and amazon, and if you cancel it after a few months, they usually e-mail you offering a discount rate to re-active. If you like Sports though, Now TV is expensive.
Flicks - amazon already charge extra for some of their content. Their streaming programming is either free through your Amazon prime subscription or you can pay to watch a variety of movies or tv series. e.g. we are currently watching Series 2 of 'Arrow' which is free, but series 3 is available but costs £1.89 per episode. Eventually season 3 will be free and I'm too tight to pay for it. I do like the Amazon app on the TV though - more user friendly than Now and Netflix IMO.

We'll have to look at seriously when this contract is up.

Our "problem" is worse than Savvys though - we dont watch sport, but my son does (Sky Multiroom #1) and so does my father in law who lives in the granny flat (Sky Multiroom #2) so we're a bit stuffed.

Having said that, son is moving out soon, so might have to have a hard look at what we do going forward - including multirooms i think we're giving Sky £90+ a month.

We get free BT Sport on Sky due to having a BT Phone and Broadband.

The only reason I bothered to get it activated is I want to watch MotoGP live and not three of four days later on ITV4

Holy carp, we're giving them that with only one multiroom. Have you got BB and phone on your package too??

My nearly free sky hd deal ends this month so gone over to bt. Phone, unlimited fibre, and hd recording tv with 500gb box for £36.99 a month but also £120 cashback from quidco and £125 sainsburies voucher, so essentially im paying £17 a month inc line rental (even cheaper if you pay in one go) if sky offer another 75% off deal or family hd for £13.60 a month with £100 credit on top i'd sign up for another 12 months.

Now I have prime I could quite happily get rid of the license and do away with live TV. It's days are numbered.....

So nothing shown live on Prime? Sounds like a plan rather than pay for the TV licence that i do not watch anyway, the rest of the household only start to watch it when i mention cancelling it.

  • I've seen a preview of the new show. They drive a Volvo into a caravan. Its hilarious.
It has the most regurgitated jokes........in the world.

Do they by any chance test drive a time machine as well?
I was just wondering how you've seen a preview for a show that won't actually start filming until early next year.

Just read an interview with clarkson. Expect to start recording in the autumn.

They have free reign to do what they want, they have a budget and no rules how they spend it as long as they meet the required number of episodes.

Clarkson told broadcast magazine that there is no interference and no policing by Amazon.

There is also no sponsors or advertisers as there would be on ITV for example, so if a car is terrible they can say it's terrible.
