Clarkson, May and Hammond on Amazon Prime

  • Top Gear with Jezza and co was never really a proper car show was it? It was just an excuse for childish pranks and cheesy jokes - I won't miss them and, even though I already have Prime, I won't be watching them in their new venture.

I don't get why adults want to watch them as it's kind of teenage humour.

pi55es all over the gay cake baking tap dancing crap on BBC.

and now Top Gear- happy days.

Can't say I have ever seen a gay cake baked on GBBO (which I assume you are referring to). Although I did do a rainbow version of the Prinsesstårta featured in one episode, for my daughter's birthday.

Have to say I don't have prime but I think it does represent fairly good value for money, especially if you order lots of stuff from Amazon with free next day delivery.

However, my main concern will be when it really takes off will they start charging extra for watching certain programmes?

I remember when I first got Sky everything was there for a set subscription price until they started charging extra to watch certain fights etc on box office.

This seems to be the way that broadcasters reward their customers for helping them to become successful.

I got rid of cable TV as it was costing me about £30 a month to watch half a dozen shows.
A £1 an hour PPV system for standard entertainment (Top Gear, Discovery Channel Stuff) would suit me more than a subscription. I'm actually thinking of ditching the Licence and sticking to Iplayer for a big saving.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))

We currently have Sky (£70 a month), Netflix @ £5.99 a month, Spotify free version and Amazon Prime.

I've noticed in the last few months we've went from pages and pages worth of stuff recorded / downloaded on Sky to only about 5 or 6 programs.

I'd say its only a matter of time before we do away with Sky altogether.

Motorguy - why don't you just get Sky's Now Tv - full price for movies and entertainment package is only about £15 per month, and it works pretty much same as Netflix and amazon, and if you cancel it after a few months, they usually e-mail you offering a discount rate to re-active. If you like Sports though, Now TV is expensive.
Flicks - amazon already charge extra for some of their content. Their streaming programming is either free through your Amazon prime subscription or you can pay to watch a variety of movies or tv series. e.g. we are currently watching Series 2 of 'Arrow' which is free, but series 3 is available but costs £1.89 per episode. Eventually season 3 will be free and I'm too tight to pay for it. I do like the Amazon app on the TV though - more user friendly than Now and Netflix IMO.

I've been bordering on thinking of ditching Sky and just having Amazon and son's Netflix.........BUT we do like sport in this house which is the only reason now that I have Sky :/
