You can't blame supermarkets for EVERYTHING. Somehwere along the line the customer has to take responsibility and check for themselves!"When you want something said, ask a man.
When you want something DONE, ask a woman" - Margaret Thatcher0 -

However to be fair to Tescos, We shop online and if they have made a mistake, either in pricing, discounts or missing items, a quick phonecall (0845 number I'm afraid) they will put it right straight away. Also if they have delivered something which we did not order they have always let us keep it FOC. :rolleyes:0 -
Reading this thread really took me back in time... 50 years ago, alas....when I used to work at Woolworths. Prices of goods might be £2.00 but in the sale they were marked as £l.19s.lld......and people thought they were getting a bargain. I longed to tell them, but the 10 shillings I got for my Saturday's work was too important to me!!!!!!!!!!!0

i found out yesterday that if you buy flowers in tesco and take them to the cs desk they will remove the price lables and wrap them in nice paper for you. a rather helpfull cashier told me this0

I would be a little wary of doing that.
I bought a laptop at Curry's in Stockport a few years ago and it took me more than two years to get the warranty refunded, even though I asked them to do it within a week of buying the product.
Eventually after countless letter, phone calls and visits, I got a refund of £299 after writing to the managing director. Nothing extra for my inconvenience or stress, and no explanation.
I have nothing good to day about Currys or Dixons now.0 -

That is not true about McDonalds.
The Filet o Fish and the Veggie burger both take longer than 3 mins to cook as I recall, the cooking time was over 4 mins for the Filet, it might have changed now as I'm going back about 6 years ago.
In some places the Filets were always made to order so you always got a fresh one that had just been cooked. There is no way they could make it in 3 mins as it would take 4 and a half mins to cook and then another 5-10 secs to dress (i.e put cheese on and tartare sauce) so the quickest you would get a freshly cooked one would be just under 5 mins.
If you had to wait 10 mins, then the manager may give you a free dessert or replace the rest of the meal if they had already given that to you but it is unlikely they would give you all of it free.0 -
filet of fish is my fave meal too, i dont mind the wait as its so tasty and soft:j HEATHER :¬) :T

In many shops in the uk (and I've found it's even worse abroad) most people who work in food shops, (who are not vegetarian) don't seem to have much of a grasp of the concept. For example, if I ask if a cheese sandwich is vegetarian, they often look at me as though I'm demented (in that "it's obviously vegetarian - it contains no meat" way). This happened to me recently at an Upper Crust, where non of the sandwiches (not even cheese or egg) displayed any labelling.
I work in the city centre and rather than eat chocolate at 8 am, I recently tried to grab a piece of toast on the way to work. Unfortunately there were only (expensive) US chains, such as Starbucks and Burger King - with no toast in sight and a "greasy cafe" which was a veggie nightmare - all the food was prepared on the same meaty surface. In hungry desperation I went in Greggs for a barmcake. The assistant had been making and serving bacon barms, didn't wash her hands and then picked up a barmcake and placed it on the "bacony" chopping board, before putting it in a bag. Yuk, no thanks!
I ended up with a bag of crisps (plain, of course)!0
