I hate people who say "oh you shouldn't be doing that at your age" etc - I can do whatever the utter hell I like at whatever age I am. It's my life and none of their business. Conversely I don't poke my nose into their lives, what other people think is none of my business and I don't waste energy on it :)

I ve no intention of sitting down and giving in!

My Mum, at 77 was annoyed that the travel company with whom she had booked a two hour ride across the desert to see the City in the Red sands of Petra - had cancelled it as most folks were not up for it. 6 months later she fulfilled a life time ambition to swim with dolphins in Florida. She was still walking or paddling 4 miles each week to have lunch (a cheese sandwich and a schooner of sherry), walk back through town, go to the library and catch a bus home in time for count down. She passed away at 78. Never having given in!! May I be the same!

At nearly 57, I still have waist length hair, go to rock concerts and have friends from 15 years older than me to 30 years younger. My boys are very supportive and would be v shocked if I suddenly became 'normal or sensible!!' Yes, I m frugal and organised with money but that's so I can continue to be crazy! :rotfl:
    Rock on guys!

    Morning everyone

Had a brilliant time at a NT property yesterday, talked to lots of friendly people and a lovely day to explore the gardens. Then home to spend some time reading the first of the cadfael books, brilliant read too

Have to stay in for two days as getting some work done, all prep for winter. Moved a few things last night and suddenly have gone from neat to messy. Just the new kitchen after this and then I can start plotting a holiday. Amazing how messiness in one room spreads

Am getting loads done and I am not talking chores, just being off mse the rest of the day. I do feel that I am not any longer in danger of getting sucked in :T

Drawing lessons next and learning to fish, in the future. World is my oyster.

He Who Knows has a smart phone and that's nice for him because the family can send photos to it but mine is as basic as you can get because that's all I need. I can make and take calls and texts, anything else would be unecessary, the only other function I utilise is an alarm set to remind me to take my lunchtime tablet,
Yep, I have daily alarms set for 07:30, 19:30 and 21:00 so that Mr LW and I both take our meds.:D
March on into older age with us Sister!!! Nothing's fallen off yet and if it does, we've got glue!!!
If I reckon I'm falling apart, Mr LW's reply is that he'll "screw me back together".:rotfl:

    LW

He sounds like DH who even though he knew he had terminal melanoma reckoned he needed to get better to look after me when I eventually went "doolally"" or else got physically ill, bless him.

messy day yesterday, hanging around a lot and was glad to get cleaned up last night. Stove just needs commissioning now and the first light, it will take half a day hopefully. Don`t know when yet as the installers are v busy, everyone wants installs for winter

So have spent time on maintenance this morning and will inform on the winter thread as all good to do before the onset of wet and cold

Feel like early lunch, I can`t seem to find food that fills until lunch. Am absolutely wanting some chips but no way, just as well that the nearest chippie is 8 miles away. Still struggle with mouth hunger as opposed to stomach hunger, thats why I try not to keep biscuits and crisps in the house and always shop after I have eaten a meal. No stopping the chocolate habit though, I love chocolate

Got to buy more wd40 this afternoon. Woman with an oil can, me

I`m back, floating around killing time, waiting for a parcel before I can go out. Maybe I should have gone on the KM or downsizing or clutter threads but hey ho. I just said good bye to and wrapped up two long standing ornaments and they are now in my open-mouthed resident cs shopping trolley. Then upstairs to a wardrobe and have taken out 10 tops, one skirt and one set of skirt and waistcoat, the latter beautifully hand made and lined by me and NEVER WORN, all because I am at least 4" thinner around the hips. That reminds me, all that time and weeks I took padding out my dressmaking dummy, drat. I`ll have to take stuffing out. Well it is good and bad

I hope the parcel comes soon, I am in transferring to cs mode and my trolley will be full today by the looks of things. I don`t want to be too rash!!
