I placed an order with Amazon.co.uk on Satuday 18th August (just before noon), choosing Free Super Saver Delivery.
All items were in stock and my order acknowledgement stated despatch estimate of 20th August and delivery estimate of between 23rd and 30th August.
I've had notification this afternoon that goods have been despatched and the estimated arrival date is 23rd August.
Hope this is the case.

I got an interesting service from WH Smiths Jersey
Ordered a dvd boxset on 2nd August, received email 9th August saying that if I'd ordered it from WHSmiths then the item have been despatched but if I've ordered from WHSmith Jersey then my order will be despatched inimently (they took the cash the same day).
I've been waiting to receive it, their website has said despatched since the 9th. Today on the 20th I recieve my dvd boxset, and the enclosed invoice note says order date 16th August - someone is telling porkies0 -
If anyone is thinking of using Amazon I would advise against it. I've been an Amazon customer for the last four years and this year the delivery service has really gone downhill. I recently made a fairly large order, spending about £150, I opted for super saver delivery and the order was dispatched the next day. This was nearly two weeks ago now; I'm still waiting for my order, and have no way of tracking it, so have no idea when it might arrive.
Sort out your super saver carriers Amazon - you're losing customers.0 -
I ordered 3 books & a couple of Sonicare Toothbrush heads on 16th August.
I've always used Supersaver & have always received my order well inside a week but the estimated delivery date on this is 3rd - 13th sept - that's (potentially) nearly a month so, because it hasn't been despatched yet, I've just been on the Amazon site & cancelled it....it asks you to give a cancellation reason & there's a free format box for more info. so I've told them their service is getting worse.....0 -

To provide an update on this, my total order has just been delivered.
So, my experience of Amazon's Free Super Saver Delivery service continues to be excellent.

Have used Amazon a lot, always with the free delivery. There's no doubt at all that the free delivery now takes a lot longer than it used to - often about a week longer for no good reason (except that they would prefer you to pay for delivery next time!).
They've switched a lot of deliveries away from Royal mail too, and my personal experience of that is that it's added about two days. Saves them a bit of money, but it's putting me off using them.0 -

That's interesting. They really don't like people using the free delivery option, do they? If it weren't there, though, they'd probably lose a large chunk of their trade - certainly all of mine!0 -
Anyone else ordered from .com and got their item in a battered jiffy bag instead of the cardboard thingy?"Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."
