Amazon free shipping getting sloooowww

Anyone else think that supersaver free delivery is getting worse, it used to be a couple of days slower than 1st class but i ordered an in stock game on the 13th which still hasnt shipped and my expected delivery date is the 20th to the 24th which could mean a total of 11 days to ship a DVD cased game. Shocking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I ordered an item a couple of week back on the free supersaver I had the item within 4 working days by courier. I expect your dvd is coming by royal mail, you've got to remember that theres a postal strike going on at the mo that is delaying alot of post, if you want an item quicker pay for the postage and early pick.
  • Four years I had to wait. Four years.
  • Just received (yesterday) a couple of items from them including an audio cd. They appear to be using TNT but final delivery by RM. Whether this has anything to do with it I don't know.
What I do know is that the packaging and it's contents were destroyed!! (replacements on the way even before they have received the damaged items thanks to Amazon's excellent returns system and CS) I have never had this problem when they just used RM.
It does seem to be taking that bit longer though - TNT element?

I'm glad it's not just me it's happening to. I ordered a book and 2 DVDs about 3 weeks ago that came this week. It was dispatched within a few hours, but took the best part of 2 weeks to arrive. I ordered 2 PC games the following week (both in the charts, both said they could be dispatched in 24 hours) which took 5 days to be dipatched and I've so far been waiting a week for delivery.

I did just think it was down to Royal Mail strikes, but I posted the book from the first delivery from London to Edinburgh as it was a present for a friend, via standard first class post, and it arrived there in 18 hours!

It's a shame because Amazon used to be fabulously reliable.

It has been slow, its been slow for ages well for me it has, it is annoying when other companies eg HMV who dispatched my item same day of ordering and i had it withing 3 days, mind you i ordered before 12 i think

  • I was starting to get the impression from the slow dispatch of free delivery items, that they were really wanting folk to pay the extra. Even when the item shows as in stock, they give you a dispatch date a week later and so on, its a bit of a joke, especially since they are hardly the cheapest for most dvds etc.

Last time I used supersaver delivery (a couple of months ago) it arrived less than 24hrs after ordering - I was very impressed.

I think I might just switch to the 'free delivery as standard' sites like Play, etc now. I'm not paying £3.50 or whatever it is for postage on Amazon, I might as well spend the money on a bus into town and get it from an actual shop!
