Having had a fairly positive day yesterday, I am in a foul mood today thanks to our solicitors - they have decided they are adding additional admin charges to our final bill, but won't tell us how much or give us a breakdown.
They are acting like I am being unreasonable asking for details of the charges! I am so angry that I'm shaking. I'm driving everyone around me mad with all this house stuff but the solicitors keep throwing up non-existent problems. In my opinion we were quoted a cost for the conveyancing and for them to add charges for whatever they feel like, without letting us know why and despite being the reason for all of the hold ups so far, is bang out of order
All answers to queries arrived by last Thursday, but they still haven't looked at our file to do the final report and have said they probably won't be able to do so until Monday
I really wish we had ignored our brokers advice and gone with a local solicitor - one who is able to answer an email in less than 4 days :j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Is there some avenue for complaint? I think that once you're calmer then write a list of the things that you consider to be poor service and either draft a letter or email.
I think it's easy for the 'experts' to forget that while it's their day to day job, it's your whole life. And you're paying them very handsomely for a certain level of service. Not giving up

Am much calmer now that I have ranted on here, and to pretty much everyone I work with, OH and my parents and grandparents :rotfl:
I've made a note of all the things which I think are poor service, including dates and times of phone calls and printed the emails, so hopefully they will sit up and take note (going to steer clear of complaining too much until we complete though - I'm sure they wouldn't hold us up just to be bloody minded but I'd rather not risk it!)
Have been doing ok with the ebay sales - haven't listed anything on facebook for a few days but will be back on that this weekend.
At least it's the weekend. Having to travel to my grandparents town 2 hours away in a van from work over the weekend as we bought the dining table from an antiques centre there and it needs collecting...not our best idea when we still have so much packing to do!
OH has stock take today and tomorrow, so god knows what time I will see him tonight, or what time he will be back tomorrow....hopefully in time for the rugby or he will not be a happy bunny.:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I FINALLY managed to get our solicitor to agree dates for exchange and completion - so pleased! :T
We are due to sign contracts on Monday, exchange the following Monday and complete that Thursday....eeek! All starting to seem very real, and I'm sort of dreading our trip to Dublin as if anything happens we won't be nearby to get it sorted. I'm sure will all be fine though
Spent 6 hours packing last night and finally fell into bed at about 1am. OH was shattered, didn't get home until after 10pm and was gone again at 7.30 this morning. Hopefully they are finished by 4 or I may have to take him a radio to listen to the rugby!
Am having another day of packing today and going on my adventure to pick up the table tomorrow...we fly to Dublin on Thursday and don't get back until Sunday so fingers crossed we are packed before we go:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

CCL, I'm so happy to have it all confirmed now! I feel like I get get stuck into packing properly and not be half arsed about it because i'm worrying that it will all go wrong...our house is a box hell at the moment, can't wait for that to be over!
ABA - I think OH will be getting stuck in to the guinness, but I will try and stick to one or 2 - I'm not that keen on it anyway so the trip to the guinness factory is more for him. The guinness related food looks lush thought so I'm sure I will partake in that!
Got back into the facebook sales this morning and agreed 2 sales totalling £30 which are due on Monday, fingers crossed:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Have been a bit naughty this afternoon - I always put a bet on the Grand National so I have a ladbrokes account which still had £4.00 in - minimum withdrawal is £5.00 annoyingly so whilst watching the rugby with OH I decided to place a cheeky bet (OH is a kiwi so obviously had to bet on NZ being first tryscorers) and I now have £9.50 in my ladbrokes account so I can withdraw it and pay it off vanquis when it clears :T:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Hi Kirsty
Just catching up on your week. Sorry haven't been around have been quite unwell with this sinusitis type thing. Antibiotics have taken a while to get to work. Anyway. I have to say when I read about the extra hours thing I thought for the extra you'll get it isn't worth it. What did you decide? Sorry if you have said and I've missed it somewhere. Also sorry to hear about all the surgery. It is terrifying what can happen.
You have still been doing so well on the repayments I think you may hit some kind of forum record
All the best
