It's difficult isn't it, I'm sure you are the same in that you never want to leave a job half done but where does it end.

I'm veering more towards saying thanks but no thanks at the moment, I know the option will always be there.

Thanks ccl, I've done a lot of thinking and I'm sure I'll have more to do after the discussion but for now it has helped just to write about it! Hope your half term is going well, will catch up on your diary a bit later xx

    Morning Diary!

Had another mini-LBM this morning - I've been filling in my whatsthecost snowball and I had allocated £625.00 a month to cover minimum payments on Natwest, Barclaycard and MBNA and a larger payment for vanquis...Having updated this morning, I have made all of my minimum and planned extra payments, but when I added up my PADS I have paid an extra £75.00 on top, and I'm not finished yet...

This reduced my debt free months by 2!!!!!

I'm aware that I won't be able to make these sorts of extra payments every month, but I'm so pleased that what is a relatively small amount in the grand scheme of my debt can make such an impact. Gives me a huge push to keep up with the eBaying and facebook selling (dreading the day I run out of things to sell though :rotfl:)

Ooops, forgot to add that yesterday I added up my remaining CC debt and it is under 10k for the first time in....(I actually don't know )...I also only have 3 CCs, over the past few years I've had anywhere between 5-9 on the go, so that's an achievement too!

When we started thinking about a mortgage my CC debt was £11880, so I'm feeling quite chuffed with myself :D

It's nice to give myself a mental boost as I've been a bit of a nightmare over the past few days and I've been trying to pretend it's all fine. On Sunday morning, I woke up and immediately burst into tears (for no apparent reason) which continued throughout the day. I was packing oven dishes and crying into the boxes...

Because of the reproductive issues I have I do get very hormonal, and quite down. I'm on a lot of medication to try and combat this, but it hasn't been this bad in quite a long time (even my episodes a couple of weeks ago were drops in the ocean compared to this) so I think I'm going to have to head back to the Doctors and see if anything has changed in my blood results. I'm just praying they don't want to operate again just yet...I don't get sick pay and need time to save to cover the time off I will need :(

  • You are doing SO well Kirsty. I've never sold anything on fb before - wonder if it's worth investigating...

I've been fairly impressed ccl, there are some very annoying people who don't turn up to collect things and don't let you know  although even worse than those are the ones who agree a price and then turn up and try and haggle...I had one guy turn up on Monday night to collect a bookcase that I'd priced at £30. OH helped him load it into the car and he tried to drive off with it without paying! OH stopped him and he said he though it was free

BUT there are no fees like on eBay and Paypal so it saves a bit there. Plus the cash is in your hand right away - it's winding me up with eBay that I have to wait for 3 weeks for the money to become available in my paypal account - that's 3 weeks interest I wouldn't be paying

  • Great progress Kirstypoos, keep it up, light at the end of the tunnel and all that. Thanks for the tip on selling on FB, I might give it a go.
  • I think we cross posted last time - sorry you're not feeling great. Hormones are a rotten thing and if you have other issues as well then it must be awful. I used to work with a girl who had endometriosis and she had to have almost a week off work every month, and it left her in an awful state.
If you had to have the operation - how long would you need to be off work for? I'm just wondering if it's doable now rather than having to wait to save for time off work... Your health is something else that you can't put a price on. You need to look after you a bit as well x

Thanks ccl, it's endo that I have too. I think in some ways it's sometimes worse for OH than me - I feel a bit rotten but I've been here before, it's been going on for 14 years so these days and with my super painkillers it's not enough to stop doing things whereas he hates to see me upset or in pain.

As for operation it really depends. I've had the same op twice before and the official word is that it's a week recovery time, which wouldn't be too bad, however the first time I ended up with a nasty infection in my uterus and the second time they perforated my bowel during surgery (sorry for TMI!) so they both had much longer recovery times, and that's what is worrying me. A week is doable, a month+ not so much :(

I'm hoping that the increased pain and general hormonal-ness is down to needing my meds upped rather than the endometriosis spreading faster than they expected, which is pretty much my biggest fear. Not thinking about that at the moment though, I'm trying to have a positivity day :)

  • Sorry you're not doing so well health-wise, but congratulations on the progress you've made with your debt. Very impressive!

  • I see the problem - hopefully the meds will sort it all out for you in the shorter term. If it's of any consolation at all then the girl I used to work with has hers under control with medication at the moment. Hope you feel better soon.
