    Thanks all!

I was on quite a cloud yesterday :D

So much so that I forgot to mention that I had a response from the energy ombudsman....long and short of it is that I've got almost £300 off the bill for various reasons, inaccurate back billing, refund for standard tariff error and a goodwill gesture :D
Only to find late last night that all the meter readings were incorrect and we owe WAY more than I had calculated  pretty much going to wipe out our savings. One step forward and 2 steps back :(

We will work it out, but such a bl**dy pain!

Had a lovely lunch bought for me today thanks to my little sister, discussing bridesmaid dresses and spending time with the little one was very much needed.

Oh the British Gas saga continues! I suspect we have either a gas leak or someone elses house has been connected to our supply - our readings have been as below:

    Dec 16 - 11328
    Feb 17 - 11512
    Sept 17 - 12120
    Dec 17 - 13009
    Jan 18 - 14771

How is it possible for there to have been such a huge jump in the last couple of months? So the British Gas issue isn't going to be resolved at any point soon. Pain in the backside!!

In other news I had a baby shower yesterday, organised by my mom and I knew nothing about it except the date - it turned out to be afternoon tea at a local cafe which had previously been a train station - very quaint and pretty and it was lovely. Very small inside which made it difficult to get to talk to everyone and I felt like I hadn't really had much time with people but it was lovely, and donut was very spoilt!

6 weeks to go now, it's scarily close!

We've had visitors over the weekend - OHs friend from NZ and his wife arrived on Friday evening and went to a family birthday party yesterday morning so we had a nice time at the baby shower with them, then my parents and Grandparents came home with us to watch me open presents, did some nibbly dinner bits and then we've nipped into town with them this morning - bought OH a 2nd hand PS4 game that he wanted as his V day present so that at least is sorted, and within budget :)

Sister has found a bridesmaid dress that she loves and luckily we all love it too so I'm relieved about that, as was dreading a horrible dress :o Sister also did my hair on Friday afternoon ready for baby shower and also changed it back from blond to nearer my natural colour so I've got less upkeep when baby arrives. I love it, it's now dark with a touch of purple to it and everyone has said it's the best it's ever looked

Hope everyone is having a fab weekend, they go way too quickly! xx

Oh what a pain with the gas Kirsty! You're right that huge jump can't be right & not something you really need right now. I take it they're going to investigate?

Glad you enjoyed your baby shower & bet you can't wait for your boy to arrive. :D I know so many girls expecting babies, I'm going to end up getting broody again soon. :rotfl:

Good that the bridesmaid dress is nice too. :T I just let my sister pick hers for my wedding as we have such different taste in clothes that she would have hated anything I picked so no point. :D

It's driving me round the bend Sashy - I'm still waiting for them to come back to me to tell me what they are going to do. Hopefully it isn't as bad as it first sounded but I'm still not looking forward to it!

Lots of my friends with under 1's are saying how broody they are getting - and I'm all for encouraging extra babies (as long as they can afford it of course :money:) :rotfl:

I still can't believe my baby shower is over - I had the date in my head as the start of the countdown but I thought it would take ages to come round, not as quick as it did!

Have an appt with diabetic team tomorrow and am worried they will be putting me on insulin as my morning fasting numbers aren't very good at the moment at all and I'm already on the max dose of the other drug they give to regulate. At least it will only be for 6 weeks, but i HATE needles and self injecting fills me with dread!

2 more weeks left at work now, not that I'm counting down the minutes at all :o

Thanks Abba - some days I think it has flown and others it seems like forever ago that I was weeing on that little stick :rotfl:

Thanks KOAG :D I'm still thrilled about it, despite all the not so great goings on with British Gas and the below issues....

I only have 5 mornings left at work but today is a doozy :(

Walked in to the news one of our vans had been stolen. We haven't had this before so I wasn't 100% of the insurance procedure so was trying to deal with Director, police, insurance and tracker company trying to locate the vehicle. Whoever has taken it appears to be a pro - found the tracker, stripped it out and threw it in a field along with identifying items

Even more annoying is that the vehicle was supposed to be safely locked up in the yard but one of our idiot lads decided to take it home as it was easier than getting his driver to drop him off :mad:

The ongoing headache that I have is obviously stress related as after the worry of this morning I can't see out of m left eye because of the floating spots again :(

In non-MSE news I've made a payment to spendy CC to cover a patiolock I have ordered - there have been 5 robberies on our estate in the last week where they have gained entry via the rubbish patio door locks and when OH is out of the house at kung fu until 11PM I feel a bit isolated and it has scared me. I don't like using savings but I'm happy to spent this for the peace of mind. I know if someone is determined to get in they will, but I'm happy with an extra deterrent.

    What a couple of days!

Went to diabetic check yesterday though and they are reasonably happy with my tolerances even though they are on the way up, so no insulin for now :D xx

I forgot to say that I made another mortgage OP this morning, bringing us down to £159,500 - so close to my target :D

Also passed the £3k OP mark which is very exciting, and our daily interest is down from £11.80 to £11.37.
Saving 43p a day sounds like very little, but it's not to be sniffed at when you work out that over the course of the remaining 4 years of our fix, even if we made no more OPs (yeah right!) we would have saved £686.20 in interest :D xx
