My nesting started when I hit my due date and my baby didn't arrive promptly! haha After that I was down on my hands and knees scrubbing clothes, clearing out kitchen cupboards and cleaning the inside of my car. I remember this fondly because I was in the driveway, hanging inside the car hoovering it and my very awkward neighbour came over and offered to make me a cup of tea and do the car hoovering for me. So sweet and I think he was scared that I was going to put myself into labour (which is what I was going for!). I carried on like this for 11 days until induction, so none of it worked but at least I had a lovely clean and tidy house and car.
This was second time round though, and I wanted to keep busy as I had a 2.5 year old with me all the time. He was happy to help out with all cleaning and tidying activitiesShame he's more reluctant now...

My motivation to do anything other than sleep when I get home from work is sorely lacking.... dare I admit that I didn't even look at the hospital bag??
I had a bit of a rough afternoon - napped on the sofa but was really sick and had a bit of a funny tummy. Feel much better today so in the spirit of actually doing what I am supposed to, I am going to do my to do list here and hope that motivates me!!
1. PACK HOSPITAL BAG
2. Prep stuff for Chicken curry for dinner - OH will be at kung fu but I want to have freezer meals ready for when little one makes an appearance so will do a big batch. Fajitas will be tomorrow nights dinner - I just snacked on a pear last night as I felt too poorly.
3. Take all labels off 0-3 clothes, and start the long wash, dry, iron put away process
4. Clean the bathroom/toilets. I do this constantly, OH drives me mad - he's like a yeti and malts all over the floors
5. Start to research ways to bring on labour. I know most of them are old wives tales but I'm really hoping to avoid induction. On Tuesday I am hoping to be able to persuade them to let me go to 39 weeks to give me a good chance of going myself but either way I'll give anything a go - even manic cleaning Jojo, thanks for the tip, even if it didn't quite do the trick!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

I had my boy two weeks early. All I did was sit down put lap top on and my waters burst try that
Kind of glad though 10 pounds 6 so glad he arrived early. Too much like me though in that likes things done yesterday :P xxDebt (1/9/14) £6,702.11 Debt free (30/11/2016) mortgage port- £70,077.82 and mortgage £126,517.39 o/s currently

*TMI ALERT!!*
When I was overdue, three separate midwives told me that the only sure fire way to bring on labour is to 'indulge' (ha! when you're feeling massive and leaky...) in some sexy time in a particular position that is known for being related to canines...
Sorry for the vagueness but I can't bear to type the words on a public forum! haha I'm sure you get what I mean.
They said that this is particularly effective because the position *ahem* allows deeper and the *ahem* male output actually primes and 'wakens up' the cervix.
God, I'm so sorry everyone. What a topic for a Thursday lunchtime...CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

Also, a friend of mine swears by rapid rotations on her birthing ball rather than bouncing. This brought on both of her labours.CC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

JoJoC - that didnt half make me laugh! :rotfl:
I went back to work after 10 months, I was more than ready for it and have worked full time ever since. Full time, part time, compressed hours we never know if we are doing the right thing. Mother guilt is wonderful (not).
I was a week overdue and as sick as a chip so took myself on a 2 mile walk. I nearly gave my neighbour a heart attack when he saw the size of me waddling down the street! My waters broke at about 3am the following morning. Althought the maternity ward did ask me if i'd wet the bed first :eek:Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%

10lb6 Monz?! OUCH! Good thing he did come early then!
Jojo that had me laughing out loud!! I do know from midwifery training that there are only 3 lbt hings that have scientific reasoning for working:- The one you mentioned - prostaglandin encourages cervical ripening
- Pineapple core - bromelain encourages uterine contractions
- Birthing ball movement - encourages the head onto the cervix which can encourage things to happen!
I will be trying all of those except the sex, unfortunately :rotfl: OH is absolutely terrified of hurting the baby and now baby is making lots of jerky movements and he saw how low the head was at the last scan, he's put me on a ban :rotfl: if I get a few days before induction date I may have to beg him to reconsider
I can't try pineapple core because of the sugars and the diabetes
The ball is definitely getting a workout though, and I've already started raspberry leaf caps plus ordered the tea. I know there's no surefire way but I'm willing to try anything that doesn't involve help from OH who thinks I should just leave it until induction
Xspender I think what is right for each person is different but I love the fact there are so many people here who are supportive of working, and feel it was the right decision for them - it makes me feel like I will be making the right decision for me, whatever that is!
I'll put a long walk on my list too, I don't mind that idea!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Glad I provided some much needed entertainment on this dull Thursday afternoon! haha
I really did not know how to put it without being crude (and probably getting banned in here) plus you never know quite who you'll offend on here! I didn't realise you'd had midwife training? How exciting!
I don't blame your OH for being weirded out - my husband wasn't bothered but it was me who was weirded out...hence the 11 and 13 day late babies!
Good luck with trying everything - even though nothing worked for me, it was fun trying it all and trying to spot symptomsCC1: £4481.14/ £5031.14 (12% paid off, £600) | CC2:£3307/ £3807 (14.4% paid off, £550) | Loan: £10,528.20/ £15,792.30((33% paid off, £5,264))

I only did the first years training and it was 13 years ago now
I loved parts of it but wasn't very good with the not so nice bits and I was training in London/Kent which I hated as I was so far from home so I ended up coming home after the first year.
I'll have to keep a note of what I try on what day and see if there is any changes - it'll be like an experiment which I will love!
I had a lovely second to last morning at work - I'm almost at the end of my to do list and my old boss (who I still work quite closely with at my current company) came round to say best of luck and brought me a HUGE bunch of flowers and a card from the old management team, which was lovely and very unexpected. I could feel the tears welling but it wouldn't go well so I pulled myself together and just said thank you and then had a few minutes in the bathroom!
Can't wait to finish tomorrow now, although there is still 1 disciplinary for me to do before I go - what a lovely end to my working year!:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)
