Thanks Sashy, wasn't that great yesterday :(

My scan didn't go brilliantly - first of all his heart rate was way too fast so she did all the measurements then handed me over to fetal assessment for monitoring, by the time they'd got me hooked up on the monitor his heartrate had slowed right down and then the issue was he wasn't having any accelerations or moving very much so ended up in there for a while.

When I finally got out of there, I was called in to see diabetic team and I saw an SHO who basically said she didn't know what was going on with my bloods by baby has had a huge growth spurt but oh well we will see you in 2 weeks. Then I went into obstetric consult where I was due to get induction date decision but the consultant wasn't in clinic so no inductions could be passed off

Went into diabetic midwife and she wasn't happy with the diabetic doctor as it's obvious from his growth that something isn't right with my sugar levels and no one was trying to work out why - she wanted me to keep her up to date with my levels as she thinks they are going to spike all of a sudden!

He is now measuring at 6lb 15oz so estimated to be over 9lb, over 80th centile when he was on the 50th 4 weeks ago so something is happening. I just need to keep pushing I think, no one seems to be paying attention apart from the diabetic midwife!

I'm a bit out of sorts today - didn't sleep well because I was stressing after yesterday and have had a terrible headache, then realised we hadn't had a reminder for the car tax so went online to do that only to find the dealer hadn't changed the car exemption status (it was previously a motability car) so had to run around trying to find the documentation to get down to the post office before it closed.
I've also put a second complaint into British Gas as I took another meter reading today and I just don't see how one household can possible use the amount of gas we are!!

That's ridiculous even if I had the heating on 25 all day every day, which I definitely do not!!

Let's hope I can get this sorted once and for all before donut arrives! xx

ARGH! Its March and I'm officially having a baby this month :D

Thanks both, I've called the diabetic midwife this morning and left a message because my numbers have gone the other way and are quite high today - I can't win!!

I'm just going to keep calling until someone listens, it's driving me mad.

In the meantime I'm bouncing like a mad woman on my birthing ball - if no one will listen to my concerns I'm just going to try and work on getting the baby out myself :rotfl:

Mortgage payment came out this morning and I'm dying to make an OP but I really need to be sensible now....easier said than done :o must keep reminding myself that I'm going to shortly have no money and a small person to budget for!

Sorry your diabetes seems to be causing you and baby problems. Are you wanting to be induced or are they pushing for it? I guess the size may be an issue due to diabetes.

My DDs 2nd baby due beginning of May but she will be having planned c section as she had one with her first DD due to her being breech and having pre eclampsia at 37 weeks. She was in labour for 30 hours with her first with no progress which resulted in Energency C Section so I think she is quite happy with a planned one this time at 39 weeks.

Exciting to think your baby will be here sometime this month.

I'm happy to go to 39 weeks before induction as long as my sugars are stable, but as they are so unstable at the moment I'm worried about the effect they will be having on the baby, and I know the placenta starts to deteriorate earlier in diabetic pregnancies so they have already said they won't let me go over my due date but since I'm now on medication it's more likely to be 39 weeks. I'm just stressing!

I think emergency sections can be stressful so hopefully her elective section will be calmer for her. How is GD1 reacting to baby getting closer, is she excited?

Yes, I can understand that your sugars being unstable can be worrying but at least they are keeping an eye on you. Just focus on the end result :) My DGD was born at 37 weeks and beyond a bit of problem with feeding initially (she was tube fed for first week as kept falling asleep and could not take to breast feeding). She soon adjusted to a bottle though and was perfectly healthy and normal developmental milestones reached. It is a stressful time.

DGD1 (age 2.5) is showing absolutely no interest in bump at the moment but is excited about her new bedroom which she goes into this weekend so my DD and son in law can turn her bedroom back into a nursery for baby. Will be interesting to see how she reacts when baby is born although she is taking more interest in babies when we take her to soft play. Your niece is also going to have a new baby sister or brother soon isn't she?

It's nice that she will relate the baby to her getting an exciting new room :)

My niece is due to become a big sister shortly after your DGD1, she's a bit hit and miss about it - she's a bit young to really understand but we all talk to her about the baby and if you ask her where the baby is she points at my tummy and my sisters so she's got some knowledge of what is going on. I'm just not sure how she will react to actual babies - we give her dolls and she feeds and hugs the doll but is just as likely to throw it on the floor head first as she is to give it a kiss so time will tell :rotfl:

Sorry things were so stressful at the hospital Kirsty, nothing worse than not being listened to. You're right to keep at them until you get some help with it but not really what you need at this point, is it? I hope you get some answers.

The gas readings are obviously not right. Have you had any luck with BG yet??

I hope you're taking time to try and relax though, not good for you to be stressing all the time.

I've left a few messages for the diabetic team but not had any joy with them yet, so I've taken matters into my own hands and upped my medication back to the max dose which I was on until last week.

I've started a formal complaint with BG but heard nothing back yet and because it's a separate complaint I can't go back to the ombundsman until 40 days have passed, which is annoying because I STILL can't move away from BG until it's sorted and dealt with and we are on the extortionate standard tariff.

I'm trying to chill out today and bounce on the ball. I'm going to make a cleaning list over the weekend for us both to get on with and OHs beloved V8 supercars starts again tonight so no doubt we will be watching those over the weekend (I won't tell him, but I do actually quite enjoy it :o)

Looking forward to my next appt on Tuesday so I can put my foot down and insist on something being done about my numbers! xx
