Fantastic news on the OPs. Have you got to the part where you're counting down the real paychecks?
Anterior placenta is completely different to other pregnancies. They're behind the cushion so it doesn't look or feel the same at all. You will still feel kicks but not as hard or as many as the other pregnancies do. And you won't get to see babies hand pushing out through your tummy. I felt totally robbed after my first one had been baby on the front. So don't get too upset that it's not what other people describe. I say that not as a Debbie downer but as I wasn't told and I was worried and then went in and was told.
Well you've got past the scary stuff, now you just need to get that baby big healthy and strong. And you can be grateful for your much wanted baby and hate pregnancy. Much like you can be grateful for your much wanted baby and not be coping with the screaming and tantrums. You don't have to be perfect. Xxx

Great news on the 20 week scan Kirsty. :j I was freaking out before mine in case there was anything wrong and I hadn't even read much about it.

I'm glad you're trying to be kinder to yourself, I don't think it felt real to me that I was having an actual baby (as silly as that sounds) until I was holding him. :rotfl: They were wheeling me to the labour ward about 1am from recovery and I was holding him thinking "Oh my god, they're going to leave me alone with him overnight. I can't look after a BABY!":rotfl:

Pregnancy isn't an easy thing, don't feel bad for not loving every second. :)

Good news on the debt and mortgage OP's as well. I can't wait to be able to overpay the mortgage, just the little matter of 3 loans to get rid of first though. *sigh*

It'll happen soon enough though Sashy - you are powering through survey sites!

I can't believe your halfway through your pregnancy already xx

Don't feel bad about not enjoying it I think I enjoyed weeks 4-6 weeks as I wasn't so tired and had no all day sickness then after that I hated it as my pelvis was giving up at 10 weeks and I was in a lot of pain.....alll three of my pregnancys weren't nice I guess some people are very lucky to have a wonderful pregnancy but I wasn't one of them .......love my kiddies to bits tho but three is enough.......maybe once they are older I might consider fostering xx

On one hand it took forever to get to the 12 week scan but since then it seems to have flown - scary! I know he will be worth every second but it is so nice to be reassured that not everyone had a lovely pregnancy, and that it wasn't real for some until the birth. It makes me feel so much better!

I'm avoiding working out how many paydays due date is away as that would panic me :rotfl:
It's nice to hear about others experiences, it makes me feel less worried about how I'm feeling and what I'm feeling!
I need to keep reminding myself that there is no such thing as perfect and let myself enjoy it as it happens, even if that's not what I expect! xx

I went to midwife for my 16 week appointment today - very late as has been cancelled twice since I got back from NZ. Sat there waiting for over an hour until the receptionist went to check what the hold up was, only to find that the midwife had never arrived to do the clinic  - a waiting room full of annoyed pregnant women was not what she wanted to see!

I threw a bit of a celebrity strop as I should've been seen well before now and they have squeezed me in at another surgery tomorrow lunchtime, which is great except we are in dire straits at work due to sickness/absence and I'm doing my best to support the only member of the team who is in today (out of 5!!!) but knowing I abandoned her for no reason this morning and now will have to leave her on her own again tomorrow is worrying me. She's my best member of staff and I don't want her getting too stressed and leaving!

My mom has found a deal at toys r us - 20% off car seats. They don't stock the colour I would prefer but that money can go towards muslins/bibs/blankets/babygros so I'll suffer through plain black :rotfl:

Spoke to the in laws last night and they were lovely, so I'm hoping it was a case of temporary madness whilst we were visiting. They (or rather FIL) still won't give in about the name though. OH is a Jr and he thinks donut should be a jr too....not happening on my watch! He constantly asks when I'm going to name him and then when I say not yet, tells me what a strong name his is and that he doesn't know why I don't just give in  He will see when baby is born :rotfl:

DD came out for the 0% card we used to book our NZ flights. It isn't in my signature as we have the money in savings, we are just stoozing it and paying it back monthly until the 0% runs out. Might as well!

Hope everyone is well :D xx

Sorry to hear about the midwife palava - what a pain!

Glad the in-laws seem better, hope it continues. :j How silly of FIL to think that the baby's name is anything to do with him though!

DH & I could only agree on one boy's name through the whole pregnancy but had lots of girl's names we both liked! When DS was born we both knew he didn't look like the only boy's name we had agreed on.:rotfl: DH then said "He looks like a ----" A name I had suggested a few weeks before & DH said he didn't like. Then I uhmmed and ahhed because I was worried I wouldn't like it after we'd named him and it felt like a big responsibility naming someone for life. :rotfl: Took about a week to definitely decide. :o

Fingers crossed I actually manage to get my appointment today - such a pain for work though, definitely poor timing but not a lot I can do about that!

I fear we will be the same Sashy - I like all names on our shortlist less every day so won't be long before we are back to square one!
OH was quite unbothered by girls names but we agreed on 2 we liked and I loved one and have done since I was a little girl, which he said he didn't love but as it meant a lot to me he wasn't bothered if I chose it....when she said at the scan he was a boy, he said he knew all along and that's why he wasn't bothered about boys names
I can't decide if FIL has worked out how much it is annoying me and thinks he is funny or is he really is adamant that baby has the same name as him and OH....I personally hate juniors so it's never going to happen, and even OH doesn't want baby named after him, he's just too much of a wuss to say it to them!

I hadn't heard of them Kitten but I've just checked and they don't do the maxi cosi one we are going for - it fits on the pram and has good reviews so will be a good infant carrier for us hopefully. I definitely want a turning one for the next size up though, my sister has one for my niece and it's a godsend! Niece is really struggling with travel sickness at the moment, any longer than 20 minutes in the car and she is sick everywhere - although personally I think she is sick because she gets hysterical at being on her own in the back - it doesn't happen if someone sits in the back and distracts her. Unfortunately we can't do that constantly, especially when on our own with her. Poor mite :(

I'm full of cold and feel absolutely rotten at the moment, hoping that it goes away quickly because I can't take any of my normal cold remedies. Fingers crossed the flu jab stops this happening for the rest of the winter as much as possible. Between the flu jab and the whooping jab, I've got 2 dead arms at the moment though :rotfl: xx
