Reality, It does seem to be flying by at the moment, some days I can't believe how far along I am and others it seems FOREVER until March!
I did have a look at cloth nappies but I just don't want to - is that terrible?! If we did it I'd want to go with one of those companies who come in, collect them and bring them back all washed, which rather defeats the object :rotfl:
Hi PB :hello: lovely to 'hear' from you
It's an ongoing battle with work. We've nailed down the maternity leave times a bit more this week, which has made me feel better and I think will work quite well - I'm planning to officially go on Mat leave first week of March but the 4 weeks before that will be spent doing half days - it should mean people start getting used to not having me around all the time which will hopefully make a difference in the long run....cross your fingers for me :rotfl:
I've had a bit of a spendy day todayall budgeted and paid in cash (or nectar points) but still spendy!
My parents came round so while Dad and OH emptied the spare room which will now be the nursery, my Mom and I went shopping. I ordered the nursery carpet which will be delivered and fitted mid Jan, the week before the nursery furniture arrives. That gives us almost 2 months to decide on colours and decorate the room....as we can't agree (or rather OH insists he doesn't care, which annoyes me!) that may be a stretch!
Went to sainsbobs and doubled up on toys, tu clothing, seasonal and homeware so ended up with £140 of vouchers.
Seasonal - Got all my wrapping paper/cards, a secret santa gift and an extra present for the niece
Homeware - Lots of extra tupperware so I can do more batch cooking to keep us ahead for when little one arrives
Tu clothing - some lovely half price bits for donut in size 3-6 months (trying to build up a selection of different sizes so I don't have to worry about needing to get loads of stuff while on mat leave), plus a sleeping bag thing in size 6-12 months 2.5 tog for next winter and a present for my friends new baby, along with OHs christmas eve PJs
Toys - Present for honorary nephew, present for friends little boy, some suitable from birth sensory toys for donut.
For all the above, I added £4.20 to the vouchers. Most impressed! I've never done the double up event before and I'm definitely going to be doing it again for next year. Definitely worth it. I had loads of nectar points and I save them for Christmas food shop normally but we are going to my parents for dinner and my grandparents on boxing day so all I really need is bacon, bread and orange juice for christmas morning. Bargain!
It's way past my bedtime now though so I'm heading up to bedxx

Well done on the double up event, sounds like you got your money’s worth. :T
RE your being protective of the baby’s clothes when your sister was helping herself () I think you’re quite right! I wouldn’t have been happy about it either, bit cheeky to say the least.

It sounds to me like you need to start putting your foot down a bit more. (Perhaps not now, but when the time comes.) On the one hand, it's great that you clearly are a massive part of the organisation you work for, but on the other hand, I simply don't understand how any one organisation seems to think that it's a good idea to give so much work/responsability/power etc. to one person so that if they aren't around the rest 'can't cope'. What would happen if you were hit by that proverbial bus tomorrow? Hard as they might find it, they would have to cope. It's strikes me as bad business continuity etc. You will soon have other priorities and I have a feeling they will get a nasty shock when you aren't 'just' going to be able (or willing, and rightfully so) to pick up the phone to answer 'a quick question about X, Y or Z' cos you are looking after donut.
I hope you use this as an opportunity to explain how, since you are worth so much to the company, that they need 1) to pay you more; 2) in the interests of business continuity have some second-in-commands for when you aren't around to do what you do (then you delegate)! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks Sashy - I felt a bit bad about taking the clothes home to start with but I soon got over that
him kicking from the outside over the weekend! It was lovely. I spent an hour in the bath (he seems to like it when I'm in the bath) just watching for little kicks and feeling themhe kicked my moms hand and my Dads but stops moving when OH tries to feel
PB I must admit it's a rod I made for my own back - 1) When things are tough elsewhere I lean on work for validation. 2) I like knowing I'm good at my job and feeling neededI'm also pretty bad at taking over when I know I can do something better and when it was me on my own in the office there was precious little help. As we've grown I really need to let more things go.
I've worked on it a lot the past 2 weeks with the lovely ladies and gent in the office and I'm handing over things as and when there is time to do a handover. Although my mat leave won't start until March, we are transitioning to how it will work now to give me less stress and more time to do PA duties for the MD. He loves that he will have a full time PA for a temporary period but I have some concern that he will get used to it and keep expecting it from the office team once I'm on mat leave. It's an ongoing conversation!!
It's not like any other company I have worked at before in terms of how the company runs, the MD is very specific about who he trusts with what and that causes problems when trying to hand work over. He has to be eased into changes! MSE really needs an eye-rolling emoji :rotfl:
I'm back off to pregnancy yoga tomorrow which is actually really relaxing. It's nice to be around other pregnant women too, as some of my friends (even the ones who have been pregnant in the past 18 months so I thought they'd understand) are expecting me to be gallivanting around to parties when evenings are for sleep for me :j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

Morning all!
Payday for me today so I've done some shuffling and moved monies to savings ready for my regular savings DD to come out on 1st December. I'm loving seeing that savings pot build up, even if most of the money is accounted for by what is on the NZ flights CC...that is being paid by DD monthly from normal household budget so eventually we will get to the point where everything in the savings pot is actually savings. Yay!
Have still got some bits left to get for donut, like a nursing chair. I've got my eye on a few on ebay so will see how they go. Also need to order wallpaper for the nursery at some point in the next few weeks so we can get cracking with painting and wallpapering ready for carpet arriving in Jan.
I've managed to come down with another horrible cold, I only had 2 snot free days between the last one and this one so I'm feeling very sorry for myself at the moment. Blasted suppressed immune system :rotfl:
Our joint bills account looks really quite healthy at the moment but I suspect that will change when we FINALLY get the bill for the gas we have used over the last 11 months  xx:j PAID VERY, Barclaycard x3, Vanquis, Natwest, O/D, Tesco & MBNA x2 PAID :j LBM 24/07/15 - Original Debt: £0/31010.23 (100% paid)

11 Months  dread to think what that will be.
You're so organised!“Once you hit rock bottom, that's where you perfectly stand; That's your chance of restarting, but restarting the way.”0 -
I'm scared to even contemplate it  I have been trying to keep track of spending and keeping a monthly amount to one side but it all depends on what rate they put it through as - if they put it in as standard rate it's going to be astronomical! I will argue the point though, as we moved from our old house with a fixed dual rate tariff (now ended) and it's not my fault they couldn't find the gas meter to register it properly! Keep your fingers crossed that all my good work saving will have been for nothing
Have been to a handover meeting for one of my favourite clients this morning so I won't be seeing them again until after I'm back from mat leave now. That was a scary thought! There is one more meeting with them before I go on maternity but my lovely right hand lady will be attending in my place.
