Payday today and all monies were paid in first thing this morning so everyone is happy, especially me! :)

I have made a mortgage OP of £100 as I won't need to make the same sort of CC OPs as I had been doing.

My parents are trying to convince me to have a 'blow it' month with what I would normally spend on debt repayments but it goes against everything I have worked towards for the past 3 years and I can't do it.
We are going to the safari park next Sunday (with a 2 for 1 voucher :money:) and then for a pub meal and that will be the extent of 'blowing it' that I am comfortable with.
It's more important to me to be able to save for NZ than blow money I need on things I don't.

Feel quite positive this morning. I don't have an acupuncture session tomorrow, so am going to a friends grand daughters 1st birthday party for an hour or two but other than that the weekend will be all about OH, me and Millie (the dog) which I am more than happy with :D

Batch cooking planned for Sunday morning and maybe some baking if I'm in the right mood, as OH is running out of lunch meals and I've been a bit lax in that regard. He has a yorkie a day which he is very reluctant to give up but I'm hoping if I bake some treats instead he can take those, will be a little saving if I can persuade him!

I'm doing quite well on prolific academic too - am up to £7 on there which I can cash out whenever I choose but I'm going to leave it for a while and see what I can get it up to. It gives me something to do whilst OH is at kung fu so makes sense to carry on with all my nice extra earning streams.

I am so glad the wages thing is sorted Kirsty.

I was thinking about what Cat said too and agree that the pressure to feel you must be cheerful every day is quite overwhelming.

Glad the wages are all sorted Kirsty and I'm pleased you're feeling a bit better today! I agree with you on not having a blow out, you don't want to end up regretting it! Saving up for NZ and having some great experiences while you're out there sounds a much better idea. Take care and have a lovely weekend! x

    Thanks all :D

Cheque cleared yesterday morning! I feel massively in shock now that it's a reality. Sat and made all the payments yesterday AM and then went to a friends Granddaughters 1st birthday party, which was lovely but a couple of glasses of prosecco went to my head and made me feel very rough this morning so that was nice :o

Had to spend some time at work yesterday morning and again this morning as there have been a few problems which is always fun!

Thank you CCL, hope you had a wonderful time away :) I'll pop over to your diary once I've updated :)

Well I have some pretty major news. I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch but I'll be banking a cheque tomorrow which will go a long way to making me DF....it's quite a long story but involves my amazing parents and a payout they have had - they have paid me the money they owed me and more besides.

They are also paying for my fertility acupuncture. Completely unexpected and was the cause of many happy tears yesterday, but I also feel a bit like I'm cheating to get to the end result.

I've decided that I will be splitting what I would normally paying between the remaining credit card, mortgage OP, savings for our NZ trip and savings for when/if we hopefully have a reduced income. I didn't think I would ever be wishing for a drop in income but this one will be because of maternity leave if we can make it happen. Fingers crossed!!

I'm still in shock to be honest. Trying to make plans for when I'm debt free is something I had planned for a while away!

    Amazing news :) xxx

    Thanks kindofagilr :)

I'm still not used to seeing my signature reduced down so much!!

I started beating myself up a bit yesterday, thinking that maybe I should have kept the money in a savings account ready to pay the CCs when the 0% period ended but it is much better for my peace of mind to have them gone. As much as interest would have been nice to have been paid the other way for once, mentally I am in a much more healthy place, especially regarding our future :)
