My Journey To My Pot Of Gold

I've also decided to have a Free February. I have so many unspent vouchers and reward monies sitting around so I want to use those next month and try not to spend anything from my salary or savings on me. I've got lots of Tesco vouchers and Nectar points, so that can cover my shopping and I also have a large amount on Shop & Scan which will give me Amazon vouchers if I need to buy anything. I think my Boots card is pretty healthy too. I won't spend for the sake of spending them, but I will use those rather than spending funds. I'm also going to try to top this up with eBay sales if I can.
I'm off this afternoon and tomorrow! Woo Hoo!

Hello Gorgeous! I might join you in the free February although it really does sound like a challenge.:D

What a strange thing to lie about?! Did theythink you would say no if it was for an investment?! Strange! Like you said as long as it goes through thats all that matters!
Hooray on finances coming together! Hope you find some comfy shoes, I have been wearing sketchers memory foam trainers, not pretty in the black but only way I can get away with trainers in work!haha. They do shoes as well!
Jodles
I've bought some black skechers now and they really are comfy but not very glam. They go fine with trousers so I think that at some point soon I'll just get some more work trousers.
So odd with those buyers. More updates to that shortly.

Hello Sam,
Having looked at my overspends for January I definitely need a free February. All welcome, especially lovely Sams!!! MTxx0 -
Far too long since an update and so much has happened. My buyers can't get the mortgage for the amount of rent they had stated my house would get!!! So I've put my house back up for sale. They were expecting around £300-£400 a month more than the highest rental yield currently along my road! I just don't understand why they obviously just assumed that amount without doing any research or speaking to the Estate Agent who covers the area. I had boxes and junk all over the house that needed to be very quickly organised for viewings but the market is busy again and I want to make sure I don't miss out again like I did a lot last year. My car is full to the brim so I'll have to get that to my Mum's as soon as I can for the free storage. My seller hasn't found anything they like, so there's no panic just yet and I'm doing all I can to get my house sold again. Plus I'm asking more of the right questions now with viewers.
The viewings I've had have all been nice and friendly enough so it's not too bad. I have another viewing scheduled for this week and I now need to let my Estate Agent do the viewings as I don't want to miss an opportunity while I'm at work.
Finances went off track again after I bought the comfy shoes! It's like I know I've got to be frugal throughout February so my mind goes wild on "quick, buy this now". I have used what I bought, but ....
I'm working away today so I got an earlier train to the hotel and have spent the evening completely catching up on YNAB and figuring out February. A friend of mine asked to borrow some money, which is fine, but it stumped me on YNAB! I created the debt as an investment account and put it in arrears for the amount owed. As she pays it back it will reduce that "debt". It's the only way I could see it could be done with the least confusion. Having it as a daily budget item with a minus just seemed more confusing and threw everything out for the budget.
I've allocated a very ambitious amount to savings next month. YNAB assures me that as long as I stick to my promise it can be done. I've still given myself a grocery and personal budget so it's just a case of keeping track and staying focused.
So now I'm lying in my hotel bed, after having a lovely hot shower, eating crisps and chocolate. Something I'd never do at home! But I've felt like I need to be constantly doing things at home so not having any specific chores is a luxury. If I can get an early night in too then I'll be a very happy lady!
I'm off to catch up on more diaries.

Booo to your daft buyers - what were they thinking? I am beginning to wonder if people just get number addled the minute a house is involved in the question!
Glad you are enjoying your hotel night - sounds very chilled. And a good tip about YNAB - that sounds like a sensible plan to me.

I hope you get some good news soon.

Booo indeed Rosa.
YNAB money loaned to my friend is in an investment account that I've given my friends name as really that money is still mine but sitting in a different location. So it's not a minus figure as I stated earlier. As she pays it back I'll move that amount from the investment account with her name to the account I borrowed it from for her. Easy!!!!!! MTxx0 -
I did have a funny feeling about them too DIA but thought I was just being a bit OCD about it all. I mentioned it all to my neighbours as I like keeping them up to date and they said that a lot of people won't sell to a buy to let buyer so that must be why they lied. MTxx0

Visit away went well. The meeting I had looked like a tough crowd but all ended very positively.
I received an email from my estate agent first thing with a feedback note from one of my Saturday viewings. Love the house and may offer £25k less than asking price soon. I replied very politely saying there's no need as I can't afford to drop that much. Having had the bank survey come back very positively I'm comfortable with holding out for now. My sellers still haven't found anything so all is good still. No need to knee jerk react.
I ended up having 2 hours of waiting around at the station and bought food, sweets and a coffee which came to almost £10! I'm going to start updating YNAB as soon as I buy things and also confessing on here more.
As I arrived home I grabbed my radio gear to record an hour show to play on a Friday if I've not had time to see the patients. I want to put a cd in of the hour to give me a chance to visit patients, get requests and find the songs. Half way there my neighbor sent me a text that my alarm was going off. I rushed home to find I'd left my front door ajar. It must have opened enough to break the connection and set the alarm off so no recording and a waste of petrol driving there and straight back again.
But I've had a chance to check diaries again so not a wasted night. It's raining heavily here now too so it's nice being in the warm.
Almost at the hump. I've got to give the ladies a good cancan too tomorrow.
