Happy February all. Half way through the week and a step closer to Spring. This deserves a non calorific celebration!!!

So Free February starts. I've managed to dig out my cards and vouchers for the month so let's see how I get on.

I'm going to ask to work from home on Friday so that I can get a few things sorted for viewings. Mostly to get to the Estate Agent and explain my alarm to them. I can't deal with the idea of not having that switched on while I'm out all day. Then I may hire a van and take a lot of boxes to my Mums to store. I'll see how I get on! It will mean I can't do my show, but there's time to add a recording in my place.

    Happy Hump Day everyone

Thanks for the dancing girls. They never lose their ability to make me smile :)
I'll be watching to see how free February goes...

  • Free February - I am away with work and all over the country so I doubt I will be able to do much moneysaving but will try.

Let us know how you get on - and best of Luck!!!

  • Hi MT Woo you've had so much going on with the house buying. I can't believe those buyers would tell lies!! I hope you get another good offer soon.

Good luck with free February and well done with keeping up the penny challenge. I'm still going strong with that too.

    Take care.

Thanks DIA. I actually get a bit excited on a Wednesday morning when I know the can can ladies will be waiting for their spotlight!

Sam - I think it's almost impossible to do a NSD when away with work, let alone a Free Month!

Yay Tink, you're back. Well done on all you've achieved while away too.

What a week it's been. Update on house sale is that I received another offer last week from that weekend viewing offering £50k less! The estate agent refused on my behalf. 2 days later that particular person emailed me asking if I'd thought about his feedback! That seemed a bit odd considering the offensive offer. Apparently he felt the details had been put forward in the wrong way to me as he'd offered so low to open up negotiations. He felt that as I had my house up for sale last year that there's obviously something seriously wrong with the initial valuation and I must be desperate by now. I did correct him with the facts so it was nice to have cleared both sides up.

While that was going on, I then had a good offer from the man who said the house was lovely before but was offering low. He increased to almost what I asked for and he has nothing to sell, so I've accepted and all is on the move again!

Until he shows affordability though I've been advised to carry on with viewings, so the estate agent sorted one today for me.

Took my boxes to my Mum and have half filled her spare room, and now need to look at storage. There's a unit at the bottom of my road which is an acceptable price so I'll go and see them when I have to work from home for the next survey and get that booked. It'll be easy to drive boxes down there as and when I fill them and I may get the larger items moved there immediately too. Need a man with a van really.

Other than that I had a lovely weekend. A visit to my Mum on Saturday and then a day in Brighton yesterday. 2 of my friends bought me an Escape Room event followed by afternoon tea for my Christmas gift. It was so much fun. I was, by far, the weakest link but it was really enjoyable. Then we had a wander around Brighton and then off to the afternoon tea, which was lovely. I ate far too much! Parking wasn't too expensive either.

Now it's back to another full on week at work! Boo!

Have a great week everyone. MTxx

He did Sam - although it wasn't initially put forward so politely. I think I understand why he went so low. :D

    Love to you too. MTxx

Fantastic news about the new buyer. Well done for calming navigating your way through the process of moving house. Lucky you that mum can keep some storage in her spare room

    Have a good day

I don't know if it's this cold snap this week or just that the winter, although it's been a fairly mild one overall, is just getting me down. I've felt a bit glum this week. Reading other diaries I assume there's something in the air, which is definitely not the sun! These low light days are just taking their toll on us all now!

All of my accounts have drastically reduced their rewards and I'm about to get a bit more complicated with my outgoings and taking on a mortgage too so I'm considering moving everything back into organisation! One bank account for all my essential bills and another for my frivolities. That's always worked for me. I'll have a look at that this weekend to see what the best options are. I also need to do some serious mortgage research too as I've not made a definite decision on who's offering the best for me.

So, I think that the glumness needs some cheer, plus we've managed to safely arrive at the hump again, and then there's the fact I'm on the brink of moving my life forward with a new home needs some celebration.

YNAB needs an update, so I'm off to do that. Then I may sneak off to our first aid room and take a nap! Hmm, breakfast first!

Last night I took my trainee to the radio to record his show. This is H the older man. He did another great show, and just before we started recording he brought out 2 large boxes of chocolates, both for me as he couldn't decide which he thought I'd prefer, and all just to say thank you for my encouragement. He also wrote a lovely letter to the chairperson of the radio saying how he'd initiallly decided that he'd do just one show and then admit defeat and do no more but as I'm so enthusiastic and kind with him that he now wants to continue. I'm so touched by that. Plus, the chocolates are amazing!!!

Right, breakfast now and then fight the urge to nap for the rest of the day! Did someone say chocolate??? 91.gif

    Happy Hump Day!
