My Journey To My Pot Of Gold

That's exactly the kind of thing
Once you get it worked out you'll find more things you can do during the commute and be able to use the time more efficiently. Which includes dozing if required - when I was at college I had a wrap and eye mask and all sorts in my bag!

My plan this weekend is to get myself organised as much as possible. This weekend it's an absolute necessity as I've set up an open day for selling my house the following Saturday and I have so many "little" jobs that I've just stopped noticing. Procrastination has to stop here!
I saw a place at the weekend that I think will be perfect for my future plans so if I can get my house sold that weekend I'll put an offer into this house. I have told the current owner what my plans are so we shall see what happens.
Work is going well. I can't say too much at this point as I'm always a bit worried that people I know could maybe read things and it's all confidential, but my hard work may be paying off.
The new house I've seen would really benefit from some work, so I'm thinking of buying it to do it up over a period of time and just carry on working here while that goes on. I'll see how it all goes, but it would be good to give myself a nice little headstart and enjoy the new things happening here before I take the plunge. But the house I've seen work perfectly for the plans I've had in my mind for so long. If I sell my house and my offer is accepted I'll post a link on here for you all to see.
Healthwise, I'm in really poor shape. I saw the consultant yesterday and things aren't good. They could be worse, but if I don't sort it out then it's just a matter of time until things are the worse they can be. However, he has respected my decision not to have a knee jerk reaction and throw a load of chemicals into my body. We are going to keep an eye on things for 6 months and then see if there's been any progression or if things have stayed the same or improved. I've done so much research during the last few years on this type of thing that I'm confident it'll be improved and this is the kick I absolutely needed to make me put that research into actiona and change my lifestyle and my life. Things really can only get better.
So, let's finish this on a more cheery note and bring the girls in a little later than normal. They've been neglected a little too long!
Happy Hump + 1 day.
We're on the home straight for the week now at least. I really need a lie in! I'm shattered!!!0 -
Hi MT
I'm really sorry to hear about your health situation - big hugs. But it's good to hear that you have a consultant who is listening to you and supporting your choices, and that you feel you are ready to make the changes you need.
Very exciting to hear about your dream property plans too. Wishing you luck in every form- nice buyers, happy seller, and a windfall to do it up just as you like.
I think maybe some love and stardust scattering is in order to bring a little magic for you and go with the dancing

Loving the dancing girls are back with extra stardust scattering.
The house move sounds so exciting. Have you got lots to do in your house now to be ready for the open day.
Hope you have a lovely lie in at the weekend. You deserve it and I hope you're feeling a bit better.

I thought by now that panic would set in about me finding this house I want to buy, getting a mortgage for it and having that to pay again and just the whole overwhelming task of packing up and moving to a place that I want to change around! It hasn't at all. Due to being my own worst enemy I've also tried to trigger that panic, but haven't been able to! The reassuring thing is that this is obviously the right decision for me as I panic easily!
I've arranged a meeting with my mortgage lady at the bank tomorrow to go over what they'll now offer me as my salary has changed a lot now I'm back at working full time. Based on their website calculator they'll offer me twice as much as I want to borrow, so I'm confident that will go well.
Initially I told the lady who currently owns my new homethat I'd like to get an offer on my place first, but having thought about it, she's not found anywhere she wants yet and I don't think she'd be able to start looking until the new year either based on some things she mentioned! With that in mind, I'll still see how this weekend's open house goes (I'm not holding my breath as November and December are generally pretty quiet months) and then put an offer in anyway. I have time off in December that I was dedicating to packing things away and charity shop donating, so I'll just add viewing availability into that to push the process along the best I can. I'm aware it may not sell then, but that's fine if she's still not started looking herself.
My finances feel very messy. I definitely need YNAB as a permanent fixture in my life. Fortunately I have a huge amount of Amazon vouchers waiting for me through my year of shop n scan and I think I'll need those to pay for Christmas. I also have lots of supermarket vouchers which will likely be used to get me through January. I'm also thinking of just paying everything up and getting myself into a very organised place now. I've earned the fee back from the 0% cash advance I received a few months ago so I think I'd like to have that clear again now.
Health wise I feel ok as I have this dream to focus on. I did visit friends yesterday and we had cake, and I know that's bad for me! So as well as tidying up finances I think nutrition is in dire need too.
Happy new week everyone! It looks like it's going to be another cold one, but it's always warm in here!

Hello MT! Im sorry your health isnt where it should be, hopefully with your research you will get on top of whatever is going on! Glad work is good, and how exciting about the house?! I hope the mortgage stuff goes swimmingly and that your open house is successful! My family member just sold after two years on the market and the new owners want them out by Xmas! Crazy!

Hi MT
So excited to be following your adventure with buying the house. Do you think you will go up for another look around or did you have a really good viewing the first time.
It sounds like everything will be at a pace that will suit both of you too and the not panicking is definitely a good sign.

But I must just remind you that cake with friends is different, and better for you than any other kind. (So is ice cream with friends, chocolate with friends, mulled wine with friends... you get the picture.)
