Sorry stooopid question alert - what's a cca?
A CCA request, (consumer credit agreement) is a request for information about your credit agreement under the consumer credit act 1978.
All creditors must produce a copy, or a reconstituted copy, of your original agreement, when officially asked to do so, and on payment of the statutory £1 fee.
If the creditor is unable to produce a viable copy, or unable to produce anything, then the said agreement cannot be enforced through the courts.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Had a phone call from Moorcroft last night, not sure if they're acting for Santander cc or have bought but that's by the by.
Anyway, reason for call is a review...I haven't had any dealings with them since my initial contact and setting up payment plan a couple of years ago.
I was pleasantly surprised though by the tone of the call, checking I could still afford the token payment and was I up to date with priority bills etc etc. No hard sell to up my payment or anything like that.
When I said I didn't have time on the phone to go through I and E, she said no probs, we can send a form that you can fill in when you do have timeLBM.....sometime in 2013 £27,056. 10 creditors
June 20.....£7,587.....3 creditors left 72% paid
£26,200 on interest only part of mortgage (July 16)...will chip away £17,103
£49,200 repayment mortgage ( July 16) £37,7640 -

I'm a bit anxious as VB were acting for me on a DMP. I have been with them for just under a year. Last week I reviewed a letter stating that they will no longer be representing me and to look to an alternative. I've tried pay plan and they have calculated that I can afford to pay creditors an extra £300 on top of what my original combined debts were!! I'm not sure what to do - can anyone help pls ?0

Hey Folks.
I'm slightly surprised by how slow one of our creditors is to even acknowledge anything is happening? Is that normal?
2 out of 3 responses now - both wanted SOE, but on their own style forms - presume I can just bin their forms and send my own version - or do i need to find a pen and go old-school?
Posted a couple of days ago about wanting to do token payments for a couple of months to build up EF and someone kindly responded to adjust my SOE to reflect what i want to pay, and then up it later on.....feeling weird about that - essentially I feel like I would be lying about our income. Do I have to send an SOE, or can I get away with some form of holding letter?
So used to just doing everything by the book, this change to working against / around the system is difficult to get my head around.
In other positive news, we've managed to clear our 2 smaller CC which were held with our bank so we are finally moving in the right direction, and sticking to budget is going pretty well to date.

Perhaps you could go self managed? that way you get to decide?
Or have you tried Step Change? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Ah poor things, obviously you weren't making them enough money, bless them.
It's probebly the best thing that could happen to you, fee charging DMC's are best avoided at all costs.
As a DMP is an unregulated, informal agreement, why not go self managed ?
It's no different to when you were paying your bills at the contracted rate, except you pay less, you don't need any 3rd party help, it's so easy to do it yourself, why not give it a try ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Options : try the stepchange online debt remedy, you can do it anonymously and fill in different amounts til you get to a figure you are happy with. With SC the amounts are a bit flexible, though you might have to justify, for example if you have pets and need to pay extra for pet insurance, or as I have an old car, I claim for a higher amount for repairs and servicing. When you are happy sign up with stepchange and bobs your proverbial uncle.
Or write to each creditor saying your dmp provider is closing down and you are taking over self management. You will continue to send them the agreed amount + a percentage of what VB were charging you, no reason for them to question what you pay and creditors will probably agree to this.
Try not to worry but as the others have posted, done you a favour.

Sure you'll be careful they don't catch you out with I and E. Still make me feel a bit uncomfortable.
