Well done to all those paying off these piggin dmps! Great to read so many success stories.

I'm just wondering, has anyone successfully moved to a rental property through an agency whilst on a DMP? It might be something we need to do in the near future and the credit check worries me.

I know I've read in this thread before that it's not an issue as letting agents only do public record checks but I'm not 100% sure that's true as I've read different things in other forums.

Any help/success stories or advice greatly appreciated :)

    Hi all

I recently completed my review with PP.

Link financial have come back to PP and said that the budget I have given for Housekeeping/Laundry/Clothing-footwear is too high £630/£45/£150. Is there a maximum we are allowed to budget for?

My daughter is due to start college this year and my son is at secondary school which have their own uniform which costs the earth!
My husband works in an office and therefore is required to wear suits (these need to be dry cleaned) and obviously are expensive when requring to be replaced.

They are also saying the contingency I have haven given of £65 is too high and they are asking whether the pension contribution of £250 is for a private pension as it is too high (as mentioned in a previous post, the £250 is currently going into an ISA but we will be looking to move into a pension plan)

Any help would be greatly appreciated:)

As a DMP is an informal arrangement, you can budget what ever suits you, if a certain creditor dosent like it, that's tough, they will probably sell the debt on, and you'd just pay the new owner.

I'd tell them, that's your budget, take it or leave it !!!

Hey everyone. :) Haven't been around much as my health has taken a nosedive, but we finally have our kitchen leak sorted! Woohoo! A ruined floor though.

Has anyone successfully managed to add a debt to their DMP with SC? I have a debt that I had completely forgotten about (it was acquired before my DMP.) My first DMP payment goes out on 1st July so I know it won't be added by then but I don't know whether to ask for it to be added to my DMP of whether it will upset the apple cart, so to speak. :(

That's good to hear. Did you go through agencies? How did you get through the credit checks?

    Hi,
No personal experience but I have heard of others adding debts, just give sc a ring and I am sure they can sort it out for you.

    Hi

I add Scottish power electricity bill a few months to 1 year since being with SC DMP.

It was a one off and I was advised it could be added as it was an essential utility bill.

If I continued to try and add any other bills my dmp would be cancelled.

That was 2013 or 14 I think and i'm still making payments to SC DMP so it hasn't been any problem.

It happens alot at the start because many of us had finances get into a mess. SC are usually fine and it means the repayment is spread a bit thinner.

alternatively if its small enough you could make your own repayments but dont try to put them onto your next review budget or SC will have a wobble
