Wow, there is lots of news on here today! Congrats to jcr16 and Johanne on becoming pregnant :j

Fingers crossed for scuzz, who is being interviewed as I type.

Some big news round here too, although not of the good news type - FiL was diagnosed with prostate cancer yesterday. He's fairly upbeat about it & considering all his options with regards to treatment, but MiL is in pieces.

Expected a fairly stressful day today with a disciplinary to do, but it wasn't too bad considering. On the up-side my boss did buy me a scrummy Cafe Rouge lunch afterwards, including pudding. I felt it necessary to go to the gym on the way home to run some of it off!

Chicken cordon bleu, saute potatoes and corn on the cob for dinner. Best go whizz up some breadcrumbs so they have a hope of drying out before I need to use them.

Hugs to all, hope those of you with rain aren't suffering too much (blue sky & sunshine here )

    Evening :hello:

Happy birthday to Mr P and donny-gal :bdaycake:

Wow, congratulations to jcr16 and johanne! Glad things are looking up for you, johanne, especially, after all the crap you've had in the last couple of years.

Heavenleigh - I think your warning's a bit misleading... as long as we keep reading the boards and don't do anything else I think we'll manage to stay unpregnant :D

Penny-Pincher!! - I'm concerned that we still haven't heard from you. Hope you or your OH can come on soon to let us know what's up.

    ((((hugs)))) to those in need.

This evening the people in my building are finally getting together for a residents' meeting. We've been trying to organise one for over a month, but you know what it's like trying to get a reasonable representation of 10 people in the same place at the same time, especially in August! I think tonight we've managed to get 6 people, which will do! So we're off to the local Wetherspoons, which is my kind of meeting :D (the venue was my suggestion actually :p)

Just need to get a few odds and ends of ironing done before I go out

    Love Rzl xx

Bargain Rzl I noticed Penny Pincher has posted today -can't remember where I saw her now, sorry.

    Congratulations to all pregnant people:j

I had such a peaceful week last week when my family were away that I'm finding the little darlings a bit waring to say the least this week.

This week I decided to harvest some of my crab apples as they are dropping thick and fast, seems a bit early this year. Anyway I've made 11 jars of crab apple jelly which has turned out very well. I made quite a lot of blackcurrant jam last month so I'm overstocked with jam and jelly. Jam tarts on the cards I think ;)

    Evening all,

DH is really cheesed off as the HGV training day went badly. We have paid nearly £1000 for a weeks intensive training.

However found out that he is sharing the driving with another chap who is learning at the same time. That means in a day that goes from 8 ~ 4 , DH would only be driving for 1/2 of that time. They cancelled Mon and Tue as there was a prob with the vehicle.

Supposed to be starting at 8 this am, but they didn't turn up til 8.30! Then would you believe it the vehicle wasn't taxed so had to wait for that so didn't start driving til 10.30. It was all over at 3.30!

Tomorrow the other chap has his test tomorrow at 2 and my DH has been told he'll have to wait in the test centre! It feels like they are taking p**s! He also thinks that he's not going to get much driving in as the other chap will want to have last minute revision.

After Fri , pass or not I will make a huge fuss and ask for some money back , but don't want to make waves just yet.

It seams that there is always a problem not matter what we try and do !!

Perhaps you were so engrossed in reading the boards that you failed to notice your OH sneaking up on you
