Hi everyone. Not had much time on here since DH came back on Saturday morning; he hasn't gone back to work yet and I've been finding it really hard to get some 'me' time! He's just popped out so I've grabbed the 'window of opportunity' !
Welcome to all the newbies - you'll have a lot of fun here.
Happy Birthday to Donny-Gal and Mr Proctalgia, and congratulations to all those with new babies on the way.
(((hugs))) to all who have had bad news.
The weather has been dreadful for the last two days; yesterday it rained ALL day but it didn't stop me going to the gym. Today is blustery with a mixture of rain and no rain!
I shall be glad when DH is back at work - he's always interrupting me and it's like having a child around - he needs to be kept occupied especially when the weather is bad! Still, I got him to do the ironing for me and then hoover downstairs and wash the kitchen floor. The other problem is that he is constantly putting the kettle on and making drinks - I spend half the day on the loo when he's home!
I'm making a casserole for dinner and I've picked loads of blackberries so we will have a crumble for pudding - all good stodgy food!
Can't believe how much has happened on the thread this morning and I haven't read yesterday's yet. I'll try and do that in a mo.
Well, love you and leave you and may call in later.

Hi just thought I'd pop on and say hello before I read the thread!:hello:
had a horrible letter through the post this morning to say we owe £1120 to the Tax credit people for an overpayment:eek: I knew this but had thought they were taking it from current payments due which is why we aren't getting any at the moment. They said we can have 12 months to pay:rolleyes: I phoned them and they were great actually and asked how much can we afford to pay, gave them an income and expenditure and we agreed to pay £25 a month so we wont have paid it till 2012! but at least we can manage this.
OS I have got a stew in the SC as we eat late tonight due to it being my Slimming World night( have had some apple crumble today:o)let you know how I got on tonight!
Off for a browse now and a cuppa, catch you later
take care xxxxxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Hello everyone
Happy Birthday to Donnygal and Mr P!
Pooky - how awful about your cousin - there are no words really, but I hope you find her sister soon, and that she and her kids are okay.
Anniebooklover - I had a breast cyst removed 18 months ago and another one just a few weeks ago which was treated with antibiotics and went away on its own - they are very painful things aren't they?
Congratulations JCR and Johanne on your forthcoming happy events!
Tooties - hope you are getting the help and support you need.
Taplady - I got stung by the Tax Credits people too and it was their fault I had been overpaid and I had even told them I was being overpaid during the year and they said I wasn't! I wrote to my MP and Gordon Brown and appealed formally and now they just take a really small amount from me each month - don't settle for paying £25 a month - ask your MP for support - mine was great.
Penelope Penguin I love that Enchanted Brocolli Forest book!! I was given it 20 years ago and still love to read it - I have Mollie Katzen's other books - Still life and Moosewood Cookbook and love them!
It is absolutely pouring down here today - but its hot - weird...
Becuase of the weather I had to resort to the launderette this morning as DD1 "cleaned" ( I use the term loosely) her room yesterday and gave me two large black bags of washing! I took it to the launderette with some bedding and towels and it cost £16:eek: . Mind you , it is worth it to get it all done and dry as I don't know when it would get done with this weather.
Hope you are all having a good day. Any news on JackieO?Jane

Good Afternoon All
What a day! Roll on friday!
Dont you just hate it when you get asked advise about debt & money, other people get involved, you know their wrong, and when you put them straight your accused of starting an argument.whats the point! This was the conversation at work this afternoon, and now apparently the manager is gunning for me! Why - for speaking my mind and being factful! Bring it on!
Anyway, TPS, yes they are brilliant.Ive hardly received any calls, and when I mention TPS (after asking for the callers name & the name of the company) They hang up! Shame about the text messages though. I will monitor them and may put a stop on through my phone line provider.
Ive cleaned all kitchen sides & sink since Ive got in. Will make a start on the washing shortly!
Catch you later

Congratulations johanne on your pregnancy (pretty sure I've already sent congratulations the way of jcr but if not, congrats to you too).
taplady, what a terrible shock for you, especially if you have been telling them that they have been getting it wrong. Glad you don't have to repay it all at once though.
Phoned surgery and I have an appointment at 5.10pm with a locum doctor. Hate visiting the doctor but I know I need to. rec spendaholic I'm hoping I'll be prescribed antibiotics for this cyst. Fingers crossed.
May nip to the supermarket first for one or two things. I've been really good recently buying ONLY what I need. I've saved a small fortune and my terramundi feels much heavier for it.Can't wait for it to be full. DD has claimed the honour of smashing it.
Done a washing but I daren't hang it out. The clouds are just a wee tad too threatening.
Off to the supermarket now. Have a good afternoon one and all. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Congratulations to our pregnancy members!!
What a strange day, getting up late throws me out completly, but still got plenty done, have cleaned the dinning room and finished (almost) rearranging upstairs.
Have fish and pasta cooking at the minute for tea, was going to be shep pie but didnt get round to preparing it.
I am feeling pretty happy with myself today have been a ordered a new stairs, hall and landing carpet, crazychick had got one for us from her in laws but we couldnt find anyone to refit it, so dh let me go and order new one today as we have been doing so well with money since clearing the rent arrears, i cant belive how excitied i get when i order new stuff, i think its because we dont very often!! I have even almost finished xmas shopping too, this site was the best find i ever made!!
Have a lovely evening everyone
