    Morning everyone

Many thanks for the birthday wishes. Woke up at 5 no reason why, had had 6 hours so not bad. DH had left his card out last night as he knows I wake early (he's still in the land of nod). Just had a telephone call from DS before he started work, with a prevailing wind his card will be in post when it arrives:rolleyes:.

Plans for the day, finished packing 'van (didn't get in it yesterday) sort out route/paperwork for trip, go and collect replacement gas bottle, get DH's prescription, see my Dad, read more of DS's dissy. Out for meal with friends tonight, don't know where to go yet.

Glad DD feeling a bit better Pen-Pen I suffered bad throats a lot when younger so she has my sympathies. (((hugs))) all round and good luck Scuzz. Have a lovely time in the New Forest Amie, will catch you again around the 9th Sept:eek:. Happy Birthday too Mr Proctalgia, 21 again like myself?

    Take care

  • Goog Morning All,
Birthday wishes to Donny-Gal and Mr. P. Alibob those last few weeks are a nightmare aren't they? I remember them well eugh!! What great size babies you have - as my mother would say - 'proper babies' - she can't get used to modern smaller ones lol!! Mine were similarly sized a real snuggleful!
Well, not too much going on today - DD1 has had a friend sleeping over so she needs returning home. DD2 is on a football skills session this morning, it was her first day there yesterday and she was a bit shy as she is the only girl and the smallest at 5. But she was fine in the way that kids always are, made new friends and almost crippled the teenager who had been assigned to tackle her - the boy made a big mistake thinking he could ge the ball from my little one!!!!

Accompanying my mum to hosp for her weekly check up - she's disabled so it takes a lot of organising to get her anywhere. The latest thing that has gone wrong with the poor woman is that her blood seems to be at war with itself. She has been put on steroids and is a bit 'fuzzy' with them -not like her at all.
Other than that, we may go out somewhere nice after the hopital - weather permitting.
I hope that the day brings happiness to all.
    Take care,
    Tilly
    xx

    Good Morning!
Pouring with rain which makes a bit of a change after all that beautiful sun we were enjoying just 2 days ago.
Spent most of yesterday asleep as I came back with my usual nasty souvenir in the form of a stomach bug. So will try and do some of the washing/ drying and finish unpacking today.
Very impressed by the 3 kids who had not used all the food money I left, had cleaned the house and did their own washing too. Maybe OM & I should move out!
This was our first ever holiday with no 'fall-out' afterwards, it was saved and paid for in advance!!! E-bay and extra work paid for it all.
Spent some of my swimming pool time 'financial planning' as it was a chance to see the big picture while not actually involved in it. OM surprisingly keen as he has noticed the difference in his bank account - don't know what other people thought of us doing sums on bits of paper!
We were getting odd looks already because we didn't go on the tour company trips (used the local tour agencies as FAR cheaper, or just did it ourselves with the ferry & local taxi). We also ate out of the hotel apart from the included breakfast, as pool bar pizza was £6, and round the corner in a lovely, clean, cool shop it was £2.80!
Didn't buy duty free perfume thanks to the Boots points offers, and OM used up the last of the currency on a bottle of Ballantine's whisky for £8.

Shall now try to catch up on what I have missed!

Scuzz good luck in your interview tonight.
Happy Birthday to Donny-gal and Mr proctalgia
Pen Pin hope DD is better soon.

    Morning all

Good luck for the interview Scuzz - fingers crossed - don't forget to eat though - even if it's only a sarnie and a bit of fruit when you leave the interview.

Happy birthday Donny Gal and Mr P - hope you have a great day.

Grey, wet and very windy here this morning, I love autumn and last night reminded me of that - dark evening, howling wind, lashing rain (actually that's any season here) Didn't sleep to well - both DH and I were wide awake at 4.30am - typically the alarm woke us at 5.55am with a jump.

Had some really bad news yesterday, my 28 year old cousin (with 3 kids - single mum) is being sent home from hospital as there's nothing more they can do for her - she had a large tumour removed 3 months ago and it's grown back to over double the size and taken over her lungs. The actual cause of the cancer was a strange birth mark - it's very rare but heriditory (sp) so we're frantically trying to trace her sister - who fell out with the family years ago - so that she can get checked and get her kids checked.

Put everything into perspective for me yesterday and I didn't moan about the state of DD2's room and I didn't even get angry when she popped a stress ball all over the clean bedding I'd just put on! lol

Curried chicken and spinache quiche with new pots and green beans for dinner tonight.

Hope you all have a great day.

Edited to say - Mrs Mix - have a great day if you do get to Port Lympne - it's my local zoo - we love it there - they do a safari ride through some of the animals pens - be warned that it's not included in your entry and is quite pricey and when we did it last it was freezing cold as the wind whips across the fields and we only saw the giraffes up close.

  • Good morning everyone

    Happy Birthday to donny-gal
    Good luck to scuzz
(((((hugs)))) to all of Pooky's family. Hope you find the long-lost cousin Pooky. What awful news to have to break to her.
(((hugs))) to JackieO, Pen-Pen's DD, PenPin, mrs mix and everyone else who needs one.

Well, I've found a little lump on my breast but I'm 100% convinced it is just a little cyst that can be treated by antibiotics. Still, it gave me such a scare when I found it first. Will make an appointment with the doc on call this afternoon to get it checked. Only noticed it because I had shooting pains and couldn't figure where they were coming from. The area is very tender.

W**k first. Boss flies home tomorrow so this is the last full day that I will be in the office on my own. :j Not been too bad actually. Haven't got much done other than the everyday administration though. Looking forward to Friday when I finish up for a week and a day.

frogga I posted a little while ago that my DD's PE kit and uniform from the suppliers cost £119. I can only afford to buy one skirt and jumper jsut now but will get more once she is back at school and finances have settled. It also didn't include trainers, hockey boots, sports socks, everyday socks, shoes, PE bag or school bag. Her shoes cost £36 yesterday. But I did get a bargain pair of trainers for £6 instead of £22. :j Thankfully, DS's blazer and PE kit from last year still fits him so I didn't have double the expense.

Doing a store cupboard challenge this week so I'm saving lots of money. It's also making more room so that I can see what I actually have in the cupboard and F/F. Don't think I will need to visit the shops for the rest of the week.

Oooooh. Sorry, didn't mean to ramble on so. Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone. xx

    Good Morning to everyone.
Hope the two birthday folks have a great day!
Pooky, I saw your post yesterday on DFW about your cousin - haven't been able to get it out of my head since - dreadful news, so young too. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Scuzz - will be thinking of you, with fingers crossed, later today!
The rain it raineth here - again! Not a lot planned for today, although now we're in the second half of the school holidays I know I need to get to grips with more decluttering - but I truly hate it.
(((Hugs))) to all who need them today.
