Have to say, i am very impressed with this new social mediaish way of a travel card, perfect exchange rate and it's bloody easy to use! in my limited time of using it, i've had no problems other i guess the Identification process which is still "processing" which is a far cry from their 15 mins they promised as it's been 3 days but i think are having issues with that according to their customer support.

But if you are like me, hate transferring a lump sum and topping up "on the go" so you get to track how you spend your money and not go crazy then this is ideal, it's instant + fast to pay by card and upload into your account, then exchanging into $ from £ is just as fast and bingo, you have money in your account! i just bought something online from America using my virtual card, nice notification on my phone to tell me i just paid using my card and completed succesfully, $1.42 rate compared to Paypals $1.38 or so, all in all no complaints and very happy, cant wait to use this when i travel to America next month, especially with the $ to £ rate going down but even when i buy stuff in America to ship to the UK, avoids the fee's i get charged by the bank at least, ideal for the long term!

Will come in very handy when i go road tripping across Europe too.

Please can someone help! I've just been really daft and I'm sure the answer is really simple but.......

    I've downloaded the app.
    Topped up £200
Wanted to exchange to dollars, but when I clicked on exchange euros kept coming up.
Couldn't figure out how to change it and was just pressing things, when all of a sudden it appears I have changed it to euros.
    Arghhhhhh, I want dollars!

So please, in simple terms for clearly a stupid person, how do I change the default so that when I click on exchange it goes to dollars?

    Many thanks!

Panic averted, and now I feel even more stupid!! Didn't realise I had to swipe the screen. Clearly I shouldn't be let loose with such technology!

Have changed it from euros to dollars!

Thank you for testing my laughter muscles. :)
  • Finally – after 6 weeks I’ve been able to access money loaded onto card in December 2015. A helpful person in customer services contacted me following receipt of a formal letter from me. He resolved the problem. Have now withdrawn all my funds – an experience I don’t want to go through again!!
    Good luck to everyone.......

It's a pity that you still haven't given any details about the problems you had, who was at fault with the PIN issue and why you were unable to withdraw etc. We are all interested to hear, but without these details your criticisms are worthless.

Unless you want lock Euro in at a good rate, there is no reason to exchange to Euro beforehand. leave it in Pounds and let the card provider do the exchange. They use the Czech Crown in Prague. Always insist on paying in the local currency.

No option, If your euro balance is enough to cover the payment it will come from that, if not it will convert the amount from your GBP balance at the interbank rate at that moment. Two balances cannot be combined so the payment will fail if there is not a sufficient single balance to cover it.

EDIT: I am mistaken in assuming that the payment would be in euros. As Kaydee and Nifty point out, a charge in Czech crowns will be taken from your GBP balance if sufficient, by default. Only dollar and euro payments default first to those balances on your Revolut.
