Positive:
- entered 'MSE' code, received £5 topup on top of £10 test deposit straight away.
- tested exchange rates, all worked fine with decent rates.
- verification worked, after being 'pending' for 48 hours.
Negative:
- have not yet received card, despite it supposedly being 'posted' 23rd.
- camera for verification bizarrey upside down, so had to lie on floor to align myself!
The bad news is I'm travelling at the end of the week. However, if it does arrive in time, I'll load a couple of hundred on it to test and give it a whirl.
I'm in my second working day of the app and the card is not even shown as posted - so far a day late according to their own posting date of 30 Nov. In addition, in my second working day of "Verify My Identity" which is showing as "Processing. This usually takes about 15 minutes. We will notify you about result with email." Obviously having problems which could be the volume of applications. But who knows?0 -

If I make a bank transfer to my Revolut account, how long does it take to show up in my Revolut account?"If you aren’t willing to own a stock for ten years, don’t even think about owning it for ten minutes” Warren Buffett

Often next working day.0 -

I asked the support team this when I signed up - they were very vague about how long it will take - 'ample' and 'plenty of time'.
So if I charge from my UK bank account, convert straight away to Euros, I should be able to use it the next working day (assuming performed on a working day) in French ATMs etc?
Many thanks.0 -

How can you "convert straight away" if it is not credited until the next working day?
What are you thinking?
If you mean via debit card, then there is no delay. You can convert and withdraw within minutes. No need to wait until the next day.. But then state debit card, not "charge".0 -

Not sure about your reference to 'charge'.
Make the transfer in sterling onto the card. Once it is showing on the app on your phone as being on your card you can immediately change it into euros and use them in France.0 -

Ok thanks, that's very useful.
I meant charge the card, not the source of the money.0 -

Hi there,
I have joined the forum specifically to give my experience and feedback on the Revolut card, having read this thread in it's early stages, I registered for the card back in August to use on a number of holidays abroad I had planned. Despite a brilliant start I am now left weary and wondering whether to close down my account.
I had no problems registering, the process was extremely simple and my card arrived in no time at all (I think around 5 working days which suited me just fine).
I am incredibly impressed with the app. It is simple to use and the in-app support is a nice touch and most helpful. The notifications received for each transaction are also very reassuring. Topping the card up was also simple and if I remember correctly, instantaneous. The exchange rate had me constantly checking to make sure I picked the right time to exchange my GBP to EUR for the best rate. I took a leap of faith and decided to put my trust in this card completely for my first trip abroad in October, taking no other money.
When I arrived, I decided to give it a go at the airports ATM. I'm not sure what I was expecting, other than it not to work, but it did and I could breathe a sigh of relief that I wasn't without money for the rest of my holiday. I'd made a conscious decision to only use this card to withdraw money and then, only did this four times. On the flight home, I wasn't certain the card would work but decided to try it anyway for some in flight snacks. It was a chip and pin transaction and I was pleasantly surprised it worked fine. The only thing I would say, and may not be obvious to everyone, is that the app requires data and therefore, if you haven't remembered your PIN, you'll be stuck until you connect to the app.
I was content with our first experience with the card, so decided to keep the account open for some trips coming up next year. My plan was to catch the exchange rate when it was particularly good, and convert my money to euros over the next few months. However, and quite luckily, yesterday I received a notification to suggest I had "insufficient funds". This didn't sit right with me, I hadn't used the app since I returned and the (little) money I had in my account was just waiting to be topped up as per my original plan. I headed straight to the in-app support to query this notification, and after a few security questions was asked if I had the card on my person, and if I was currently abroad (in hindsight, that depends entirely where the person asking the question is...). Yes I had the card and no, I was not abroad.
I can't fault in-app support, their response time is incredibly efficient. They asked me to block the card right away but I then got a whole host of information and I'm not entirely sure what has happened and I don't think they do either. They've said they can see suspicious activity on the card, that someone may have stolen my data via online usage, that the card had been flagged for use abroad, that perhaps someone had access to my card and it was cloned, it was perhaps from a mag stripe reader, that it could have been a scanner that scanned my wallet, or it was a camera in an ATM.
Now don't get me wrong, I appreciate that these things happen, but I for one do not understand why it has happened now, a month after my return. I don't understand why they have suggested it may have been down to stolen data from online usage, when I've only used my card for ATM withdrawals and a chip and pin transaction. They have not explained what type of transaction had been attempted, and indeed where.
This brings me back to my original plan, that only last week if I wasn't busy, would have exchanged a large sum of money I'd saved in preparation for my next holiday. Had I have done this, would I not have been so lucky to see an "insufficient funds" notification, and instead a transaction notification of a purchase, or a withdrawal? The in-app support clearly stated that I would not be covered for fraudulent activity, if it had indeed been a successful transaction. Something that (and correct me if I'm wrong) goes against Mastercard's fraud protection.
I have blocked my card with Revolut and am now in two minds as to whether I keep my account open, or close it completely. Despite being happy with the experience until now, I now feel at risk and weary over the security of my account now, and in the future.
It would be interesting to see if anyone else can relate to this. Perhaps I should just admit I have been a victim of attempted fraud, but I for one don't feel that Revolut are taking the situation as seriously as perhaps they should...
Thank you for reading,
