Mutually exclusive means cannot both occur. So presumably you mean that they are not mutually exclusive?

    or mutually inclusive perhaps? ;)

Apologies for stating the obvious, but be sure to register the RAF link first (ie daughter gets email) before making the application through Quidco or wherever.

Not sure if MSE Skimlinks affects claims.

Well, I've kicked off the process, daughter email bit done. The only downside is Quidco has now reduced the cashback from £75 to £35.

Pity that, but will still give it a go.

    Regards,

    Benny.

Just to alert you to a change to the terms and conditions of the Recommend a Friend scheme (as of today).

The offer is now explicitly restricted to one payment for being recommended no matter how many switches you do (there was previously a restriction of one payment in a 12 month period and prior to that no restriction at all which is a ballache as I was 5 days away from qualifying again!).

The recommended friend will only be entitled to receive one payment for being recommended even if they switch more than one account to us or are recommended by more than one person.

It had to happen sooner or later, but, like you, I'd rather it happened just a little later as our 'anniversaries' were up next month...so that's £400 lost!
  • I did RAF for the first time last December, referring a friend who duly switched to Nationwide. We both got £100 in mid January. So far so good.

Now my turn to be referred by said friend. Every time he has referred me he has been blanked and upon enquiry he was told by CS liaising with the RAF team that he couldn't refer anyone because when he opened his Nationwide account he didnt transfer over enough direct debits.

He transferred ELEVEN DD's as part of the switch.

Plus his FlexAccount entitles him to RAF anyway regardless of DD's, one just needs to be a FlexAccount holder doesn't one?!

As Nationwide CS et al have spent about four weeks not resolving his several enquiries can anyone see what could be the problem? I'm guessing Nationwide CS, anyone else noticed they are about the only financial institution that routinely deals with enquiries without bothering to ask for customer ID etc because they just want you to go away with a generic conversation usually ending with get in touch if X Y Z doesn't happen on a certain date.

Sorry if I don't understand this properly! It's a bit new to me to say the least. I notice you referred your friend, so doesn't this mean he can't refer you as you have/had an account to be able to refer him in the first place?

No he can refer me as my existing Nationwide flexaccount is not my MAIN:) account. Also he can refer anyone, Nationwide won't know until that person applies if they are bona fide and eligible.

    Its all in the T&C's.
