Chinos  i hope you took them back? If my wife bought me a pair of chinos, i would set fire to them!

Was thinking that to and then thought OP must be around 50-60, :)

Mistaken again as he is only 31 and wearing these would in my view make you look nearer to my initial thought of age.

I think chinos and polo shirts are great for Summer. For me they would be a bit casual as I tend to wear really bright smart trousers in various colours. But I think for most people chinos look good.

I was going to suggest walking trousers too. Husband has just worn them for most of the last week, and I wear them a lot too

Don't wear grey trackie bottoms (nor Burgundy dark red ones), always remind me of prison "leisure wear" gah!

So what do smart young men wear if they're not wearing chinos?

Haha! He is 31  that is nearly my age and he's already in chino's! He better have words with his wife. I was thinking he is late forties at least.

I think chinos are fairly ageless. They are just plain cotton trousers.

Otherwise what's the choice? What does someone who is late 20's/early 30's wear to be smart? A: a pair of trousers, usually chinos from what I see ...
