i must admit one mse member went a bit far by having a heated argument with the manager ,even though by law everyone knows they don't have to sell you the item when they realise a mistake has been made providing they don't accept payment for it.
who posted the following?
"I went to my local store and there were around 10 on the shelf took 2 to the till and was just about to pay for them when the manager came up and said they were mispriced and I couldnt buy them after a heated few minutes arguing with him I left the store with nothing went to my next local and bought the last 2 on the shelf with no problem."
good old showman arguing the t**s about a misprice ....a misprice the store didn't have to honour
Exactly, but I didnt threaten to sue them I have no problem arguing a point but not a lost cause I just moved on and bought 2 from another store you would still be there with no merchandise threatening to take them to court! as YOU cant be bothered to look at the other sites misprices I can only assume you are more interested in trying to score personal points than trying to sue Dell, and please dont question posts that have nothing to say about the "current issue" as your last post had nothing to do with it this just goes to show what a hypocrite you are, myself and other members have posted misprices in response to your post but of course all of these are the "wrong kind of misprices" for you.as I said earlier get on with your pointless task of pursuing Dell and if you have success I will congratulate.after searching through your previous posts(yes, we can all use the search button) it seems you an expert on travel but I cant see one thread you have started concerning bargains so really should anyone take anything you say seriously? I dont think so.:rotfl:0 -

Dell's "mistake" seems to be costing it nothing. An empty apology, delays in refunding people and no other action to say, "sorry, guys. Hands up - our fault - here have this sweetener to restore your faith"
Your comment on "professional moaners" is personally offensive. I work in a service industry and I meet all sorts of people. Some are harder to please than others and some won't moan until you can do nothing about the problem. You can't please everybody all of the time. HOWEVER, when we make a mistake, we do everything we can to rectify it ASAP and provide an appology that's appropraite to the mistake. In this way, we have learned to make fewer and fewer mistakes.
It would seem that the larger an organisation becomes, the less interested it is in customer service and I suspect that it's expotential. This is plain wrong and people should not let them get away with it.
If you disagree with that, you're part of the problem.
3 spelling mistakes in there.....what should it cost you? Personally I don't think it should cost you anything.
Mistakes cost?....not always!0 -
this is where you are wrong ...i wouldn't spend anytime whatsoever arguing with the store manager ...the law is 100% on his side ..i wouldn't take them to the small claims court because i would lose .
now i'll come down a level as i'll try and explain things simply.
a 49pence television is different to a £23 hard drive with regards to a 'misprice' ...no one could credibly believe that the 49p tv was anything other than a misprice.. also a £99.90 current dvd recorder that appears on a website as a £9.99 one is an obvious mistake ( let's guess the decimal point was put in the wrong place)
the court would view these cases and side with the retailer .
in this case we are looking at a half price older hard drive ...unrealistic ..i don't think so.
of course a lot of this is an aside ...one can only presume that you didn't try and purchase one of these as you are totally unaware of how far along the purchase route dell went ...it's pointed out above how far things progressed so in reality all i'm interested in other items that went this far...so sorry i'm not bothered about 49p tv's ..not bothered about items where the consumer received some kind of confirmation and the company didn't take any money off them...
it's really easy to understand
the only other examples of 'misprices' i'm interested in are ones that tick all the same boxes as the dell one.
if i need any advice about arguing the t*ss in PCworld you'll be my first port of call0 -

i see spelling mistakes = other mistakes (?????????)
or are you throwing the old grammatical /spelling put down into the argument.
i should add by the way dell still have offered nothing to show what 'mistake' they made. they can't offer other item descriptions or alternative item codes0 -
It's quite astonishing how much time Showmouth and Labmouth are prepared to devote giving "advice" on a matter that doesn't concern them.
Despite their misguided posts I've now secured a promise from Dell that my demands will be met, it pays to persist.0 -

What did you ask for a million pounds and a plane to take you to Cuba? I'd pay that just to shut you up.And in response to "hammy by name hammy by nature's" comment about not arguing the toss with Pc World that is the reason why I have 4 Microsoft webcams that cost the princely £11.96 and you only have a grievance with Dell and nothing else.I'm quite happy to argue the toss with you all day, I'm sitting here getting paid for it.I work for a large and quite well known internet security firm, and yes I'm my own boss.0 -

Dear Astonished
It's called having an opinion & I'm allowed to voice it. I saw this offer fairly early on & thought it was a mistake on Dell's part & decided not to order, hence my interest.0
