Has anyone had a Dell Satisfaction Survey e-mail today?
I never contacted them anyhow - they contacted me to tell me my order had been cancelled lol
Yes. I enjoyed completing this - seriously doubt that anyone will take any notice though. Given the level of problem ownership that's already been displayed by Dell, I don't have any expectation of a followup, rectification or any other positive action.0 -

There's a mistake....how do you want to be punished? Imagine, could someone at Dell have typed a barcode into their system & got 1 digit wrong?0 -

Hey, well there you go. To err is human - and this one's big enough to admit it. Punishment? 30 lashes from Showman36's tongue - I'm expecting it anyway.
The issue with Dell is not that they got one digit wrong. They got the whole thing wrong, took three days to notice and issue cancellations and then 14 to refund money to some people. Dell is a huge corporation that makes decisions by committee - how come such an error ever got through quality control...... Unless, of course, there isn't any quality control....
Thankfully, my typo mistake above costs little and the one to suffer is I. However, it's nice to be able to prove the point I have been making and my thanks go to Labman for this.0 -
Been away for two weeks, sifting through emails - whats the situation? I imagine since my hdd isn't here it was cancelled?0

You imagine correct !!!:p
To save you from reading through the previous 557 posts, I will summarise:- lots of people placed orders
- Dell cancelled due to misprice
- most people said "fair 'nuff" - nothing ventured ......
- a significant minority went into "let's sue Dell" mode
- nobody ACTUALLY sued Dell (this just my assumption - I may be wrong!!)
- lots of bickering ensued
- bickering continues until the stragglers get bored and move on......

Well, in order to stand any chance of sueing anyone you need to give them written notice of at least 21 days (preferably 28 days) and ideally in two notices set 14 days apart. So, anyone who's already begun a claim is going to be onto a loser already as a judge is unlikely to consider that enough time has passed to allow sufficient mediation and so avoid a claim.0 -
i ordered one of these... i originally thought that i will push it as far as possible in the hope they would think"lets just give her summat to get rid of the pain in the arris" lol
then i thought ... i would see how others had got on...
now im thinkin forget it lol...is it really worth all these arguments???

Now you've got it. That's what people have been trying to tell everybody...do you honestly think that mistakes like this haven't happened before? It has umpteen times & with one exception (a long time ago!) in my recollection everybody got zilch! Ianonline's 7 step thing is spot on.....and will be when it happens again...as it will!0 -
Dell have finally provided me with the postal address of someone in a position of responsibility(?) in the UK, but I can't be @rsed, so Dell win.
These misprices sometimes work, I received several cordless phones recently for a few shekels, even though the company, whose name I forget, rang me to say that I wouldn't be getting anything because it was a misprice. I have no use for them, but that's not the point.0
