Doh!! - just when you think this thread has finally died a death, someone goes and bumps it up again. :wall:

(Oh no - now I've gone and done it !!):rotfl:
  • anyway back on track ...to those who have had money taken from their accounts it might be worth you having a look in the last computeractive ..issue 248..page 13 (in case you want to have a quick look in a shop !)...in the consumeractive section the following case update appears regarding kitchen rolls from tescos...very interesting ...i'm afraid i don't know about putting it on here due to copyright...the gist is that money was taken on an internet order and they then go on about 'an invitation to treat'...worth having a look.
i'm sure it's far more reliable advice than that which people who aren't bothered can contribute.

Anyone still interested should check out issue 250 for this exact Dell/Iomega HD issue.
Of even more interest is the update in the current issue (251) where said disgruntled customer receives his refund from Dell and as a goodwill gesture he was also sent the drive! [page 13...again]

Dell have finally provided me with the postal address of someone in a position of responsibility(?) in the UK, but I can't be @rsed, so Dell win.

These misprices sometimes work, I received several cordless phones recently for a few shekels, even though the company, whose name I forget, rang me to say that I wouldn't be getting anything because it was a misprice. I have no use for them, but that's not the point.

Cough...........not going to go into detail, however; I pursued this for some months on the grounds of Dell breaching their Terms & Conditions and eventually got a name, which ended up in a very very positive result for me.

Micky, you should have kept going.

Basically, got the supposed original price of the drives which Dell said was £75.00 (hence the alleged miss-price) as I had ordered 2 drives that was £150.00. As I've now had confirmation of the cash hitting my account I think its safe to let peeps know.

I still think Dell didn't make a mistake with the price, but were selling off discontinued stock and underestimated (didn't have real time stock control) the response and as their T&C would have meant them having to supply something similar they risked cancelling all orders, which I assume not many pursued.

I assume others may have been sucessful, but may not have posted, if there hasn't, Dell will know exactly who I am   Dell never told me I couldn't let people know my outcome, but if I suddenly stop posting....avenge me :rotfl:
