If Dell have made a mistake they should do the honourable thing and supply those who ordered in good faith.

Supply what exactly? The product is no longer manufactured. It was a mistake, they happen.....move on.

you're right, why should anyone expect to pay the price an item is advertised for, why can't people simply accept the price may or may not be correct and the product may or may not be available and the advertiser may or may not take the trouble to ensure the accuracy of their advertising.
After all, credibility and customer service shouldn't be a consideration, should it?

Why do so many people think this was a misprice and not simply a reduction?
I checked my local source and found a 250Gb 7200 RPM HDD @ £28.75 and a USB enclosure @ £6.75 - total incl VAT £34.66, so £23 seems reasonable for a reduced price. If Dell have made a mistake they should do the honourable thing and supply those who ordered in good faith.
You're talking about an internal drive, which are much cheaper anyway. What make was it by the way?

As for the enclosure, that's a pretty good price.
The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.

You are right, why should we expect anyone to be understanding when a mistake is made. After all everyone is perfect & no one ever makes a mistake?

But ISTR the price was 13.31 +vat, the remainder being Dells exorbitant delivery charge.

Is this thread still going?! Come on guys, you ordered one, Dell cancelled your orders.

    Either

    a) Take the matter to the small claims court, and pay the required fees (and risk losing them) and report back in the unlikely event you win back your fees and the difference in cost for a similar hard disk.
    OR
    b) Get a grip, stop moaning, and buy another hard disk that's at the cheapest possible price for size.

No doubt all you moaners here are just ebay scum who wanted to make money out of them (whilst illegally evading taxes), because surely all the reasonable people will happily take the refund, won't keep going on about it, and will find another hard disk to buy.

I have a problem because the thread keeps popping up when I'm trying to check on hot deals. If the mods would move this into an expired deals or deal discussion, I wouldn't have a problem and you could waste your breath there.

The CEO of Dell is Michael Dell.

If you're not interested, DON'T read this thread. I have 50 on order and want them!!!!

Who has obviously ordered 50 to sell them on to make money out of them, cause they can't be arsed to get a proper job and pay taxes like everyone else. Simple!

Get real, it was clearly a misprice, you are only fooling yourself if you think otherwise.

You aint going to get one ( or more ) so why rant on about it, just move on.

Why the hell do you keep reading this thread and replying if you don't give a !!!!!!???
