I think I have that image too, I always take screen images of everything I buy on the net and at every stage, misprice or not.

I have still only had the first two E-Mails on the 14th and no extended date or cancelation. My delivery is in two days time.

Ooo! Please keep us updated. If someone gets the HDD it proves, I think, that the item was correctly listed (albeit at a reduced price) and others should be entitled to it, or an equivalent, too.

Why do you have a problem with me (and others) posting opinions on a bulletin board?

Have I put my time and money where my mouth is on contractual issues? Yes. Can I be rsd to do so for a £25 external drive? Probably not. Which is why it needs someone with no money and lots of time to pursue Dell on this. For your info, it's unlikely that a decision made in a county court will set a general precedent that a vendor should honour a misprice (whatever that is), but it might persuade Dell to honour a contract.

In passing, does anyone know who the CEO of Dell is? What is his/her e-mail address?

I have a problem because the thread keeps popping up when I'm trying to check on hot deals. If the mods would move this into an expired deals or deal discussion, I wouldn't have a problem and you could waste your breath there.

The CEO of Dell is Michael Dell.

Agreed - This thread belongs in the 'It's Gone, but was it any good? ' section.

How are we supposed to know that it is a miss price?

People have pointed out that technology is getting cheaper, and this may have been stock to get rid of. I bought 2 of the Worrell Thompson 4 burner gas bbq's the other week from tescos for £87 each reduced from £399, got the info off here, now that did seem like a missprice and it wasn't. Had the Dyson hoovers for less than half price from posts off here, they wasnt misspriced.

Companies do get rid of stock by way of reducing prices. If you have a good look round at the differencies in prices for the same thing, then is the lower one always a miss-price?

If people knew it was a missprice from the start then why waste time in ordering one?

The whole point of this board is to get bargains as and when they appear, granted if the price had been £1.99 I wouldn't have ordered one and wasted my time, but £23.68 don't think that is an obvious missprice myself.
I agree it's not the most obvious misprice there ever was (Thanks for the screenshot Roger!), but my point stands that it obviously wasn't a reduction. Your post tells of great deals, and congrats on that, but I'll put money on the fact that they were ADVERTISED as reductions, eg. "Worrall Thompson BBQ - Was £399, Now £87!!!"

I guess it could also be fair to say that anyone who's actively shopping for one of these would know that these aren't available for this price, especially from Dell, as they would have browsed to the product, and in doing that, seen some very similar products at very different prices. The only real way to avoid that would be to go straight to the product via a link, which would have been on a misprices thread like this one. So they would have known full well that it was in fact a misprice.

Having said that, I will agree with the sentiments on this thread about what they've said regarding product codes being wrong and the product not being manufactured anymore, as the page clearly says new.

Why do so many people think this was a misprice and not simply a reduction?
I checked my local source and found a 250Gb 7200 RPM HDD @ £28.75 and a USB enclosure @ £6.75 - total incl VAT £34.66, so £23 seems reasonable for a reduced price. If Dell have made a mistake they should do the honourable thing and supply those who ordered in good faith.
