As i've said before, the money was actually taken from my account on the 15th. It was pending before that, but it was definitely taken out by Dell on the 15th. Still waiting for it to go back - the e-mail said it could be up to 5 days.
I was not responding to you though but the poster before me who only had it pending.Nice to save.0 -
Sorry, I thought you were generalising and saying they hadn't taken it from anyone.0

I ordered 1 of these, never thought id get them, nice if I did, they didnt take my money so Im not bothered really but for those who did have the money taken, they should be annoyed.Dell chose to complete the contract when they took the money end of.
Not sure if its worth the small claims court but these big companies should know about the sale of goods act.
If it were for a £400 pc then they should fight it.
A call to consumer direct should yeald some results for those with monet taken0 -
OK, most of us knew this was a misprice, we took a chance on getting one ( or more ), we didn't get them, no surprise really.
The fact that some people have had their money tied up is just tough luck, clearly if you cannot afford to have money tied up like this, don't gamble.
Nobody is going to take Dell to court, despite the usual threats, just get over it and move on.;)0 -
This "grabbit " is finshed, can a board guide pls move it to Gone sub-board to let them vent in private.ac's lovechild0

Well said dc, I suggested that a few pages back, but nobody moved it.;)0

shopping shouldn't be a gamble ....i think people forget the amount of unbelievable deals that are put on here and other sites that are perfectly genuine.
staples come to mind for a starter
the amount of times i've been to outlet villages and shops and seen stuff that i would have sold just as quickly at ten pounds whereas they shift the lot at five pounds. £100 items for a tenner.
it's a commercial decision .
as for some of the people arguing that dells terms and conditions cover them ....i'm surprised
if you believe that after receiving a confirmation email , having money debited from your account , received e mails telling you of your order being delayed due to supplier problems etc that after 3 days they then give you the error nonsense ...i'll repeat that ...3 days ...72 hours ..it's a long time in internet shopping to then say an error allegedly has been made.
at what stage do the doubters actually think that you gain proper rights in this scenario ??? from where i'm sitting i would suggest that you believe dells rights apply right up until the order is sitting in your house .
i haven't seen anything go this far and then a company renege on it.
i should have added look at some of the electrical items boots offered recently ...they weren't misprices just incredibly cheap0 -
I think you have been watching the X-files too much, you seem to forget that these companies websites are still set up by Humans believe it or not and there is a small thing called "human error" I know I make many small mistakes at work in the course of a week why cant people believe that the same has not happened here? as for being up for nearly a day, Dell has a huge website and one pricing mistake would only be red flagged when they noticed how many orders came in for it, but as I said before Dell is a large company and by the time this misprice filtered down to the person who's job it was to fix it could well have taken a day.its not the same as a one man band sitting in his bedroom running a website selling 6 products. On the matter of taking money from your card different websites have different policies but I suggest that as Dell make personalised systems to order charging your card when you first order seems quite logical to me, all that has happened here and I know there have been other pricing mistakes by Dell in the past is some "human bod" has made a mistake it's that simple no conspiracy or any other deception, remember the old addage "to err is human"
That's fair enough comment, but as you say they are a big site, not run by individuals at the weekend or on their coffee breaks.
Boots.com is a good example. You can view everything or just items that are in stock.
The email I got stated that the item was discontiued, if true why was it on the web site.
I completely agree with the human error side, I run my own business and would hate to be battered over an error, all I was saying was they shouldn't have got as far as taking the money, and the item, if out of stock shouldn't have been on the site at all. It just seems these things are coming up quite often now and it could be a why of getting people to hit the web page.
As long as my money goes back within the week I wont be calling to complain.if i had known then what i know now0 -
Jeez...17 pages of comment about an offer that doesn't exist?
There are too many people on here with too much spare time. The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.0
