To everyone that who have now moved onto the "lets start legal action against Dell" bit its clearly stated as follows at the bottom of the PDF and I quote'Please note - your order is subject to our Terms and Conditions of Sale and Service. Dell will not be responsible for typographical, pricing or other errors and reserves the right to cancel any orders based on such errors'
this is Dell's get out of jail free card,I have seen many many misprices on this forum and the threats on legal action and have yet to see a successful conclusion on one,so please all the amateur legal eagles out there stop talking rubbish and get on with your lives.0 -
Agreed, it is time that they moved on to the " I will never use Dell again " stage.. :rotfl: :rotfl:0

, I do agree with showman's general point. When we try to get things at the reduced prices, we know we're taking a chance that we don't succeed, especially when it's something you have to order rather than just buy in a shop & take with you. I don't order essentials this way - I reserve this method for ordering things that I or someone I know can make use of, & that the price makes more attractive. If I get one of these, that's great, but if I don't I won't kick up a fuss as long as I've lost no money as a result.
I've now had the e-mail changing the delivery date to 28 Aug - I'm going to use the time between now & then to look elsewhere for something similar to this item. If I find a better deal, I'll cancel the Dell order - if I don't, I'll wait until Dell end up cancelling it themselves.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

They may have the right to cancel orders due to a mis-priced item, but that doesn't mean they can take your money and send you a confirmation.
They must have known it was a mistake, it was up for nearly a day.
I think these companies are getting wise to this, bring you into their site and hope you spend money on other things while you're there.
Bit like 0% credit card transfers, they hope you forget to pay the balance off of forget to move before the offer time ends.if i had known then what i know now0 -

I think you have been watching the X-files too much, you seem to forget that these companies websites are still set up by Humans believe it or not and there is a small thing called "human error" I know I make many small mistakes at work in the course of a week why cant people believe that the same has not happened here? as for being up for nearly a day, Dell has a huge website and one pricing mistake would only be red flagged when they noticed how many orders came in for it, but as I said before Dell is a large company and by the time this misprice filtered down to the person who's job it was to fix it could well have taken a day.its not the same as a one man band sitting in his bedroom running a website selling 6 products. On the matter of taking money from your card different websites have different policies but I suggest that as Dell make personalised systems to order charging your card when you first order seems quite logical to me, all that has happened here and I know there have been other pricing mistakes by Dell in the past is some "human bod" has made a mistake it's that simple no conspiracy or any other deception, remember the old addage "to err is human"0 -
E mail just received from Dell
Internet Receipt Number; [GB0131-8264-74163]
Dear Customer,
We are very sorry – we have had an error in our systems, and the product you thought you were ordering was wrongly described on our website. The product code and price of your order related to a completely different product, and was incorrectly linked to the description of the Iomega Hard Disc Drive you requested. In fact, this is a discontinued product and is no longer in stock.
Due to this, your Dell Order Internet Receipt Number: [IR No] has not been processed, and has now been cancelled.
To place your order for a different Hard Disc Drive, please go to www.dell.com or talk to your sales agent.
We are sorry for the inconvenience that this error has caused, and thank you again for choosing Dell.

No because they haven't taken any money.
But they have, I cant use that money because its frozen from my account, therefore its not available to ME. If at some later stage they dont want it, they let the bank know and I can then use it for something else. I have given Dell authority to take that money from my account, the fact it hasnt actually gone, but is unavailable means that I have paid for that item. Until I see that money avialable in my account again I believe I have bought 2 drives and I want them!!

Then stop moaning like little girls and get and the phone and scream at them. Telling us won't help you get a drive.
Go start a small claims procedure against them.
Personally I think it would have been great to get them but in this case, so what.Nice to save.0 -
