staples come to mind for a starter
the amount of times i've been to outlet villages and shops and seen stuff that i would have sold just as quickly at ten pounds whereas they shift the lot at five pounds. £100 items for a tenner.
it's a commercial decision .
as for some of the people arguing that dells terms and conditions cover them ....i'm surprised
if you believe that after receiving a confirmation email , having money debited from your account , received e mails telling you of your order being delayed due to supplier problems etc that after 3 days they then give you the error nonsense ...i'll repeat that ...3 days ...72 hours ..it's a long time in internet shopping to then say an error allegedly has been made.
at what stage do the doubters actually think that you gain proper rights in this scenario ??? from where i'm sitting i would suggest that you believe dells rights apply right up until the order is sitting in your house .
i haven't seen anything go this far and then a company renege on it.
i should have added look at some of the electrical items boots offered recently ...they weren't misprices just incredibly cheapDo I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -
for gods sake get over it I cant believe people are still going around in circles on this, as requested could a mod please move this as it has now been expired for a while
Get over what? Circles? Where? And please keep your belief-involving-gods to yourself. From the info available, if Dell have confirmed an order then it's worth following up. Offer, acceptance etc. Which part of basic contract law don't you understand?0 -
The problem is they have not canceled the order, well not mine anyway.
I just wish they would hurry up and cancel or send me the goods, either way would be fine.and to keep spamming you from every direction.
Not with me, they are the only ones with that Email I would just add it to the blocked list that gets deleted at the server.0 -

You should note that, under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, it is a criminal offence to give a misleading price indication. Even if you decline orders where there is a pricing error, or where your advertised prices have changed after the order was placed, you will not necessarily escape criminal liability.0 -
Look people, put your time and money where your mouth is. Complaining on a bulletin board isn't going to do anything except waste your time and space. If you are upset enough, please go and try this case in the court system. It will benefit us all if you can get a court ruling that says a vendor must honor such a misprice.0

Or conversely, a court ruling that says that people who ought to know that something is plainly a mis-price yet pursue the matter for all they're worth are a bunch of time-wasting, greedy so and so's and thus should pay compensation to the vendors
Isn't life a bit too short for all this:cool:0 -

Why do you have a problem with me (and others) posting opinions on a bulletin board?
Have I put my time and money where my mouth is on contractual issues? Yes. Can I be rsd to do so for a £25 external drive? Probably not. Which is why it needs someone with no money and lots of time to pursue Dell on this. For your info, it's unlikely that a decision made in a county court will set a general precedent that a vendor should honour a misprice (whatever that is), but it might persuade Dell to honour a contract.
In passing, does anyone know who the CEO of Dell is? What is his/her e-mail address?0 -
something is plainly a mis-price0
-
If it's in the contract then it's a contractually agreed sum, not a misprice. If it causes Dell problems then that's all part of the rough-and-tumble of commercial reality. If Dell can't be bothered to get it right contractually then that should be their problem, not the punters.
Yawn! your boring us now0
