network q garage - wrongly advertise mileage
Comments

But this is a Network Q feature, not a dealer feature - I'd be escalating to Network Q and letting them find you an alternative car
I only have a contract with the dealer. Hence my only recourse is the dealer. On the telephone, they stated the error on mileage and specification is from Network Q.
So it would be up to them to take separate action against Network Q (highly unlikely) and not me.0 -
I'd offer you a refund on the car.. (less £100 for the extra miles youve put on it..)0

The vauxhall dealer has offered
1. £125 refund for the Additional 2,600 miles and
2. To install a Parrot bluetooth in the car at their cost.
Or has offered to take the car back from me and give me a full refund.
Happy with item 1, although still think he is getting is getting away lightly from misleading me on mileage.
not happy with a Parrot BT kit. And have rejected that option. Asked for an integrated OEM kit, as below

They have made a more than fair offer though, The extra 2600 miles wont have devalued the car by £125.
Take them to court and they will just show at the time they placed the advert the mileage was correct, when you test drove it you were informed they it was being used for test drives etc and the mileage on the display is correct.
You have a big issues on the mileage and likely to lose if you took them to court on that. Your main issue is the bluetooth.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I am happy with the mile compensation they have made, and said I will accept it.
They are not wiling to fit the integrated bluetooth kit without me contributing my mileage compensation to it. So options they gave me on Friday are:-
1. £125 compensation and parrot bluetooth,
2. Integrated bluetooth and no comensation for excess miles
3. Full refund of what I have paid,
I obviously have option 4. Go to small claims to get what I asked for and what I paid for.
Will decide course of action over the weekend.0 -

Course of action??
Ever heard the saying "You can lead a horse to water, but you cant make it drink"? Going to court would be plain daft and all they'll do is say "we offered the guy options, we even offered a full refund" and they're covered.
They've given you options - really fair options in my view, particularly given that if the mileage is such a big issue, you maybe should have had a look at the dash instead of fiddling with the electric roof, so you must take part responsibility there. An AWFUL lot of hassle just to prove a point, and it will no doubt suck what remaining pleasure you might be taking out of having a new car.
When you come to sell the car in X years time, noone is going to say "gee if only there was 2,600 less miles on this car we could have given you £X,XXX more for it".
Personally, i'd take the OEM upgrade, or if you've let your obsession with the miles ruin any pleasure a normal person might get from a new car, then take the full refund and get another car somewhere else.0 -
As above you won't win in court and it will have cost you the fee's to file a claim. So your onto a loser.
Mileage issue can be wiped away with the fact the mileage was correct when placing the advert. You knew the car was in use and added miles yourself on the test drive. If the mileage was an issue you had the opportunity to inspect it before accepting the vehicle.
Have you checked the price guides to see the difference that 2600 miles makes to the price also?
They offered compensation and a bluetooth kit or to fit the genuine bluetooth addon, if your unhappy with that then they also offered a refund.
Where is the unreasonable bit? And where do you think a court will find in your favour?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

They remark it's more expensive than the Golf convertible will hold its value less than the Golf and describe the omission of a bluetooth carkit as standard as 'glaring'.
Should have been named the Vauxhall Cascara, that's the effect that brand has on me.0 -
I have accepted the dealer's offer to have the fully integrated Bluetooth installed at their cost and have forfeited any mileage compensation.
The car is fantatsic, at least I can now legally call people while driving.0 -
