    2600 miles - that's hell of a test drive!

It wouldn't be a big deal on most older new cars - but op was buying very close to new where a discrepency of 2600 miles represents a difference of nearly 25% of that stated.
It's quite possible ops lost social status amongst her friends because she couldn't afford a nice near new car but instead opting for a banger with over thirteen thousand miles on!!

It's not about social status, but the agreement with garage stated a set number of miles. We luv the car and not looking for it to be changed or returned. However, as a minimum surely if the garage has made a mistake in its advertisement and contract document, they should put it right at their cost,
I.e. Install Bluetooth free of charge
Return a sum of money equivalent to the increased miles. (Whatever that may be).

Since buying the car , the weather has been great and we have the hood down every day. :)
  • The garage were struggling to sell the car with 11,000 miles being advertised. So the cynic in me believes the garage new the mileage was higher, but it helped bring customers into the dealership by advertising a lower mileage. Obviously can't prove, but too many errors for a Vauxhall dealer to make unknowingly.

It's a nice looking convertible, chances are the staff have been taking it home and sticking the miles on it. I'm mates with a Merc salesman and he comes home in some cracking cars, they've even let him have 3 cars at once for a family wedding.

One of the reasons I wouldn't buy an ex-demo, that and a new car broker can get pretty close to nearly new prices, sometimes beating them. New Car Discount to currently doing £5k off list on a new entry level Cascada.

Sounds like buyers remorse to me, if you don't want the car or feel you've over stretched then return it as mis-sold.

Definitely not buyers remorse The car was secured at a very big saving off new, more than double the £5k you quoted. I know it will depreciate a lot more in the coming years, but wanted a car I could enjoy and play with. So definitely np remorse.

Initial impressions - had it less than a week now. The soft top is fantastic -apparently fastest in its class for going up and down. Looks are great. Plenty of room on the inside front and back. Negative, too many buttons on dashboard and has a Vauxhall feel on the I side - although I knew this.

But and its a big but, I agreed to buy a car with Bluetooth and £11k on the clock. The dealer has either been dishonest or incompetent. Either way I should be compensated. He rang me on Saturday and has promised to get back to me this week.
  • Let us know how it goes. I'd not worry too much about the mileage if you plan on keeping it for 12+ months it won't make a jot of difference.

The BT should be easy for a retrofit (if you are sure it doesn't have it).
    Thinking critically since 1996....

Looks like the newer ones have it standard, it's possibly yours was a late registration so built just as the spec changed. What month was it registered?

If they agree to fit the BT, a compromise on the mileage discrepancy could be your next service free. Doesn't cost them much, but worth at least £150 to you.

Just out of interest, how much would you be happy with for the mileage issue?
