If the vehicle does not correspond with the description, you will be in breach of contract.

Surely the vehicle didnt correspond with the description in 2 areas. So they are in breach of contract, regardless whether that discrepancy was deliberate or accidental.

So teh only question to answer is whether any damages are due, due to the level of error in the discription.

Let's see what they respond with, but I believe they are in a weak position.

Simple solution to this would be to suggest under Network Q 30 day exchange that they swap it for the othe (lower mileage) car.

Interesting to see that their 30 day exchange is now based on faults whereas many others are still 'changed your mind'

Well, one would expect it to be, 26 years later. It's 'Bertone' just for reference.

Anyway, the fact remains that the Cascada is built on the same platform as the Astra, shares many components with the Astra, and is built on the same production line in Poland.

So, in most respects, it's a convertible version of... the Astra.

I'm surprised, although I don't doubt you. I've only ever seen one, on a motorway. I thought it was more Insignia sized. Not a bad looking thing though.

I think it is half way between the astra and insignia.

    Astra length is 4.419m
    Cascada length is 4.696m
    Insignia length is 4.83m

The car I was driving before the CAscada was a 63 plate Astra Energy. So the dadhboard and radio have the same feel apart from the Astra Energy did have Bluetooth as standard.

At least with this thread a lot more people will know what a Cascada is. May help sales of teh car as they have fallen in 2015!!

The Astra and Cascada wheelbase is within a few mm of each other - that length's all in the backside, to try to fit the folding tin-top in. To be big enough to cover four seats, it takes a lot of folding away. The Cascada's on the same platform as the Astra - the Insig's on a different, larger one.

The rebadge is to try to differentiate from the hatch, but also from the utter sales flop that was the predecessor, the Astra TwinTub. Sorry. TwinTop.

What car are fairly unimressed by it:

    http://www.whatcar.com/car-reviews/vauxhall/cascada-convertible/full-review/26172-1#Ownership

They remark it's more expensive than the Golf convertible will hold its value less than the Golf and describe the omission of a bluetooth carkit as standard as 'glaring'.

What a boring world it would be if we all were the same.

Hope everything gets sorted with the Cascada, enjoy it, have fun.

But this is a Network Q feature, not a dealer feature - I'd be escalating to Network Q and letting them find you an alternative car
  • No Response from dealer yet. They rang me last Sunday. So yesterday - a "Letter before court claim" was sent to them giving them 14days to resolve the situation.
    - install factory integrated Bluetooth at their cost
    - pay a cash lump sum to compensate for increased number of miles.
